By Rev TG Chivaviro | The building of a toilet and secondary school block is part of Gospel Artist, the Ebenezer hitmaker Rev T.T.Chivaviro’s social responsibility programme which he runs with full backing of his music fans.

Having been raised in the same Village of Gwehava, in Gokwe, Chivaviro realizes the challenges young boys and girls from that area face after completing primary school. The closet secondary school is some 6.5km away and eventually some kids who are not physically strong enough to walk 13km daily to and from school end up dropping out of school.

Therefore to give back to the same community that raised him, Chivaviro has secured and 10 hectare piece of land , fenced 4 hectares ,dug a deep water well inside and now intends to first build a toilet then the first classroom block with the help of well wishers. While the government has told him they don’t have resources at the moment to support the venture, the musician is prepared to go it alone with the help of all those that have been blessed by his music! The government has passed his venture .

The plan is to get the toilet and first block ready for forms 1&2 in Jan 2020, then proceed to higher classes after the take off.

About US$15000 is needed to get the project proceeding with the community offering most of the general labour needed. His fundraiser is running from 1st June to July 31st.

For the past 2 years ,under his social responsibility program, Rev Chivaviro has also been donating to various causes annually.He donated 500 books to 1 disadvantaged rural school in each of the 10 Provinces in Zim, then also paid School fees for about 21 rural kids last year for the whole year.
