By A Correspondent- Addressing the politburo Wednesday, president Emmerson Mnangagwa castigated armchair leaders urging Zanu Pf to remain a listening party which prioritised the people’s needs and servant leadership.
Mnangagwa said:
“We will not tolerate armchair leaders. The culture of the Second Republic is servant leadership. Those who are not prepared to fold their sleeves and work for the party, bad luck. We must remain a listening party.”
Zanu Pf on Wednesday held its crunch Indaba at the party headquarters in Harare.
The meeting followed an announcement by the party’s Secretary for Administration Dr Obert Mpofu inviting party heavyweights to the politburo meeting.
Said Mpofu:
Zanu Pf’s Secretary for Administration Obert Mpofu wishes to advise all members that there shall be a Politburo meeting to be held on Wednesday 4 December 2019 at the party headquarters commencing at 1000 hours.
The ZANU PF politburo is the party’s highest decision-making body outside Congress.
The politburo is constituted by members most of whom are handpicked by the party’s First Secretary, Emmerson Mnangagwa who in turn holds office for five years after nominations from the provinces.
