Own Correspondent|Bouncers manning entrance into the Winky D Album Launch at the HICC on New Year’s Eve thoroughly beat up a group of suspected Zanu PF youths who were demanding free entry into the concert.
The group, wearing Zanu PF T-shirts and scarves, had to run for dear life after the bouncers lost patience on the youth pestering for entry into the much talked about show.
Inside the HICC, another group of suspected Zanu PF youths tried to cause commotion when Winky D was performing, but the attempts were ignored by a 5 000 strong crowd that attended the gig.
The much revered artiste, however, seemed to have come more than prepared for the launch as his stage was dominated by scores of bouncers just in case violence broke out.
Ahead of the much-anticipated launch, fears of violence dominated local media.
The ruling ZANU PF party claims that Winky D’s New Album Njema is mocking government while the musician insists that it has no political connotation at all.
