A Ukraine-bound passenger plane crashed shortly after take-off

Own Correspondent|A Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-800 on flight PS752 has crashed shortly after takeoff from Iranian capital Tehran.

The flight was heading from Tehran’s Iman Khomeini Airport to Kiev Boryspil Airport in the Ukraine.

Initial reports from Iranian state media cite emergency crews saying there were at least 176 people on board, consisting of 167 passengers and nine crew. None of the occupants survived the crash.

Flightradar24, a website monitoring flights around the world has also confirmed the crash. The website wrote the statement below:

“Ukrainian International Airlines flight PS752 crashed shortly after departure from Tehran early morning 8 January 2020. The flight departed Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport at 02:42 UTC (06:12 local time) and the last ADS-B signal was received by the Flightradar24 network at 02:44 UTC.While initial reports have speculated as to the cause of the crash, very little is known at this time.”

All 176 people on board a Ukrainian passenger plane that crashed Wednesday after taking off from Tehran were killed, Iran’s Red Crescent also said in a report.

“Obviously it is impossible that passengers” on flight PS-752 “are alive,” the head of Red Crescent told semi-official news agency ISNA, adding that 170 passengers and crew had boarded the plane.
