By A Corrrespondent- Chivi South Legislator Killer Zivhu who donated a consignment of groceries and sanitary pads urged the inmates not to lose hope because of their situation in prison saying he had passed through the same institution in his life but managed to be successful later. Chikurubi Female inmates yesterday received groceries worth $35 000.
“I was once in prison in 2003 and I have learnt a lot, not to lose hope and this paved way to be where I am today. “It is my great pleasure to donate groceries to convicts and give hope to some of you.
“The groceries are key in maternal health and I will keep on handing over these groceries to you. “I want to assure you that there is life after prison and you should not lose hope because you’re in prison.
“I assure you that I will visit you every month and give life and hope to you.” He urged the inmates to be strong and determined. “You must see success now that you’re in prison and you should have strength. “You should learn something in prison which will help you to succeed in life.
“I have decided to celebrate my birthday with you in partnership with Mambo’s Chicken and I am happy for that. “We will continue to prioritise you and all charity homes. “I am also happy that you’re united and you are disciplined.
“As such, this donation resonates well with our efforts to ensure that all our prisons are adequately equipped with basic needs and this is very important as it is one of the keys to an enhanced health service system,” he said.
