Farai Dziva|The Mayor of the city of Masvingo, Councillor Collen Maboke, has denied claims that he denigrated MDC president Nelson Chamisa.

Party sources accused Maboke of attacking Chamisa during the district elections on Saturday.

The sources claimed Maboke publicly attacked Chamisa.

Speaking to ZimEye.com on Monday, Maboke said he passed through the MDC Provincial offices just for a few minutes to assess what was taking place as he had been informed that there were some skirmishes during the district elections.

Maboke said:

That is false ndakasvika pa office for less than 5 minutes. I wanted to collect something from a certain guy who was at party office -what caused me to disembark from the vehicle ndaida kubetsera mukomana akange arohwa kuenda naye kuchipatara paakanditi ndiri right ndakabva ndatobva ndikaenda kumusha kuBikita kwandaida kundoona Mai vangu vasinganzwi mushe.
