Last night, much of Southern Africa region, Zimbabwe included, got together to watch the movie Contagion which hits home due to the similarities with the COVID-19 pandemic that we are currently facing in the world.

SABC 3, or the SABC in general is no longer a go to when it comes to viewers choice; except for the loyal fans who have stuck with the long lived soapies. Otherwise, people who have branched out to different networks and online streaming for entertainment.

Not last night though; thousands of people were tuned to SABC 3 and that was good for business. Was it calculated or is it a coincidence when looking at the timing of the movie?

Regardless, it was a win win. One question though, what message was in Contagion that we could learn as we fight against the Coronavirus?
