How Criminals Are Hacking Facebook Pages

By Technology Reporter| The below outlines some of the hooks being used by hackers to take over Facebook pages.

One hacker investigated by ZimEye.com is a so called, “Indira Shishani.” Shishani fronting with the picture of a young teenage woman, contacted a page promising a lucrative advertising contract to the tune of $400.00.

He said he works for a company called “Facebook Advertising.”

To make this hook more believable, he announced saying he does not need any admin access to the page. He wrote, “You can publish up to 3 Ads/Articles a day through Facebook ads.

“You can earn upto $ 120 per item and $ 240 to $ 400 for 3 items per day.

“I don’t need any kind of admin access on the page.

“All payments will be done in advance. I will just give you articles that are related to your page.”

You have to publish articles from websites like buzzfeed.com, diply.com, boredpanda.com, USA today on your page, he continued.

He also said, “No bad content will be published on your page or is against Facebook policy.

“We have professional content creators who write articles and make videos.”

He then sought to get the email address of the administrator, promising to pay per day and now saying he would pay via PayPal.

He then demanded that for the process to go ahead, the administrator must register for his App. He said:

“This is the official Facebook site. Here is the invitation link.

“You can register your account here.


“Or you can check your mailbox. Facebook has sent you an invitation.”

How he was detected as a thief: Our reporter demanded to speak with him via phone as a pre requisite. Further checks would also be needed to verify real identity, and physical address. (Neve renter a contract with someone you cannot successfully sue. The request was turned down the second time as he said, it is not company policy, to speak with him via phone.

When a phone number was soon supplied, the line was answers by a receptionist who immediately said Shishani is a scammer. Mystery solved.
