By A Correspondent- Government has called on private institutions testing and treating COVID-19 related illnesses to register with the ministry first before treating the infectious disease.

Permanent Secretary in the Health ministry Agnes Mahomva said in a press statement:

“When we look at infectious diseases, clinics treating these diseases must register with us. Your clinics, that want to work with us should register with us first. We note that there are several private institutions already working on COVID 19 related illnesses, and we are saying stop it and come to us first. We agree that we need your help, but we have to certify that you have the facilities and capacity to deal with the scourge and we must assess you first and certify your health institution.
