Pursuant to the illegal and unilateral removal from parliament of Party Chairman, Thabitha Khumalo, SG Hwende, Senator Timvous and Manicaland Provincial Chairman, Hon Mutseyami, we the North America Province would want to unequivocally and unreservedly condemn such shameless abuse of state institutions by the illegitimate government of Emmerson Mnagagwa. We want at the same time to declare our unfaltering support for President Nelson Chamisa and also vouch our unwavering support and solidarity for our four recalled leaders.

As a Province we are now clear that negotiations with the Zanu Pf government will never bring the freedom and justice that the people of Zimbabwe want and deserve. Zanu Pf has literally declared war on the people of Zimbabwe. It is not far from the truth that we are now in a state of war in Zimbabwe. As a province we stand ready to fight alongside our fellow comrades in the trenches. As a province we are ready to defend that which we voted for and he whom we voted for. The patience of Zimbabweans has been stretched and now it’s broken. The continued ill treatment and harassment of our leadership and members has reached unparalleled levels and as a province we cannot take it anymore. Enough is enough!

This statement therefore serves to give notice to Zanu Pf that here in North America we shall lobby all organizations and governments and anyone who care to listen about how President Chamisa extended a hand that was never taken and how the MDC Alliance advocated a peaceful settlement to the deteriorating Socio-political and economic situation in Zimbabwe. We also want to assure our MDC Alliance leadership that we are ready to support them in whatever decision they make going forward. We will do everything possible within the confines of international law to ensure that the will and aspirations of Zimbabweans are realized.

Having said that I would want to urge all NAP members and indeed all Zimbabweans to remain calm, strong and resolute. This is a time for unity and unquestioned loyalty to the goals of our struggle. I pray for an unparalleled spirit of oneness and togetherness as we get ready to confront the enemy. Let’s get ready for a few turbulences but I want to assure you that, at the end of the short journey our proven and battle hardened captain Advocate Nelson Chamisa will land us safely in the new Zimbabwe that is beckoning.

Together we are stronger, together we shall overcome!
