70 Year Old Buhera Man Given Three Life Sentences

A 70-YEAR OLD Buhera man who shot and killed his employee’s wife and two children following a misunderstanding has been slapped with three life sentences.

Takadu Oxford Mangwiro who did the unthinkable in 2018 when he shot and killed the trio including a one-year-old infant has been convicted of three counts of murder and attempted murder.

Mangwiro was handed three life sentences for murder with actual intent and 10 years for attempted murder by Mutare High Court judge, Justice Hlekani Mwayera.
The court heard that in 2018, Mangwiro had a misunderstanding with his employee, Mandingo, whom he accused of theft.

Mangwiro fired Mandingo before asking him to vacate his premises but he could not leave as he had no bus fare.

The following morning Mangwiro took a 303 pistol and tried to shoot Mandingo but he missed before going on to gun down his wife and two children. The matter was reported to the police leading to Mangwiro’s arrest.

In another case, a 40-year old member of the local apostolic sect has been charged with rape after he allegedly impregnated a 14- year old girl from his church before taking her as his wife.
