MDC Alliance Masvingo Urban MP Donates
$175 238 For Cement Towards Runyararo West Clinic Construction

MDC Alliance Masvingo Urban Member of Parliament Honourable Jacob Nyokanhete has donated cement worth $175 238 to Masvingo City Council for the construction of a clinic in ward 3.

The money is from the 2019 Community Development fund.

The Community Development Fund (CDF) community, has the following committe members :

Honourable Mago and MDC Alliance Senator Rwambiwa (Chaodza).

Honourable Nyokanhete said, “We held a consultative meeting with residents in ward 3 and MDC Alliance councillor Mr Vembo at Francis Aphiri Primary school.

Today, the donation of cement is a fulfilment of my promise. I hope this donation will help in fighting corona virus and other diseases in Masvingo.”

MDC Alliance Masvingo proportional representative and a signatory to CDF account Hon Mago said, “Masvingo urban, ward 3, Ward 4 and Range residents share one clinic- Runyararo clinic. The new clinic that is being build with held Masvingo urban residents in ward 3 and Range area to access treatment.”

Honourable Nyokanhete said, “Yesterday, 23rd June 2019, l transfered $166 829- 74 into Masvingo N. Richards account for 257 bags of cement. Then
$3 781.59 is for bank charges. Therefore, the remaining balance of
$4 627.07 is still in the Community Development Fund account-for account maintainance.”

Commenting on financial transparency, Hon. Nyokanhete said, “Community Development Funds are public funds, therefore, I must be accountable and transparent to the electrorate. I am a Christian. I shun corruption. Last year, l gave the detail account of the CDF money. “

Hon. Jacob Nyokanhete is a registered public accountant and associate member of CIS who believes in transparency in financial matters.

Currently, Hon. Nyokanhete is a member of Public Accounts committee in parliament headed by Honourable Biti.

In addition, Honourable Nyokanhete, appreciates Masvingo urban residents for trusting and voting for him as their member of parliament.

MDC Alliance Senator Rwambiwa (nee-Chaodza) said, “We as CDF committe accepted the recommendations of Masvingo residents in ward 3 for the construction of the clinic. People were traveling long distances to seek medication at Masvingo General hospital, Rujeko clinic and Mucheke clinic.”

In addition, MDC Alliance Hon. Mago said, “We, in MDC Alliance values the health of Zimbabweans. Zimbabwe health system needs to be expanded. We are happy to join hands with Masvingo city council in building Runyararo West Clinic.”

The MDC Alliance ward 3 councillor Mr Vembo said, “We as Masvingo ward 3 residents are excited to receive 257 bags of cement from hon. Jacob Nyokanhete and team. This community development fund will assist in the completion of our clinic. Surely, this clinic will bring great relief to Masvingo ward 3 and Range residents.”

On the water crisis in Masvingo urban, Honourable Nyokanhete said, “During our consultative meeting, Masvingo urban residents requested that we use Community Development Fund to instal boreholes. We noted that, we will do that using 2020 , Community Development Fund, because the current money could not pay for one borehole equipment and installation that needed more that $200 000. We hope in 2020 CDF we will get foreign currents or rtgs money that will be adequate to instal boreholes.”

Hon. Mugidho MDC Alliance National women vice chairlady said, “We , as MDC Alliance leadership want to thank Honourable Nyokanhete, Honourable Mago and Senator Rwambiwa for using the Community Development Funds in a transparent manner. In addition, I support the issue of building the clinic, women and children are mostly affected when the clinic is far. “

257 bags of cement will be delivered to Masvingo city council central stores in the next few days. The delievery of cement will be done free of charge by Masvingo N. Richards as part of their social responsibility.
