By A Correspondent| Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has responded to Kent University based constitutional expert, Dr Alex Magaisa’s expose which carried names of public figures who benefitted from the Farm Mechanisation loan scheme put forward by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, saying the key question should not be who was paid what but who has put the scheme to good use.

Posting on Twitter, Mliswa said the land reform beneficiaries only got land without mechanisation after white farmers removed their tools on the farms.

He further claimed that the scheme was of national interest with the important question being on outcome of the programme.

“Land reform saw beneficiaries awarded farms bare of mechanisation removed by the white farmers hence the farm mechanisation scheme to bridge the gap. It was a scheme of national interest. The more important question may be, “Of those who benefitted, was it put to good use?” said Mliswa
