By Jane Mlambo|Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa has labelled incarcerated duo of Hopewell Chin’ono and Jacob Ngarivhume as evil wishers.

Addressing the media in Harare today, Mutsvangwa said the arrest of Chin’ono and Ngarivhume had nothing to do with corruption but interests of the west.

“The role of foreign powers in this plot to instigate an illegal regime change in Zimbabwe is made apparent by a set of events and statements that followed the police operation,” said Mutsvangwa.

She accused the duo of being evil wishers for rallying Zimbabweans to protest during the COVID-19.

“Hopewell and Ngarivhume belong to that camp of evil wishers. The begging question is why call for a violent uprising in the midst of a raging and ravaging Covid 19?” said Mutsvangwa.

Government was forced to issue a statement on the arrest of Ngarivhume and Chin’ono following wide condemnation from the international community including UK, USA and the United Nations Committee on Human Rights.
