Tense Atmosphere As Police, Army Shut Down Harare CBD

By A Correspondent| Police and soldiers are moving around the Central Business District of Harare instructing shops to close with those walking around being asked to produce letters confirming they are part of the essential services.

ZimEye witnessed soldiers and police officers chasing away people who were queuing at one of the local banks along First Street.

Most of the shops did not open today with the few including pharmacies also instructed to close.

Easipark parking marshalls who had reported for duty have also been told to stop working and have already left the CBD.
