By Jane Mlambo| The British Embassy in Zimbabwe has called for a credible investigation into the murder of opposition MDC Alliance activist and Hurungwe Councillor Lovender Chiwaya who was found dead this morning near his home.

The MDC Alliance has fingered state agents for the murder of their member saying they had reports that they were looking for him.

Posting on Twitter, UK in Zimbabwe said there should be full application of the law following an investigation into circumstances surrounding his death.

“Distressing news about the death of MDC-A councillor Lovender Chiwaya. Must be a credible investigation by authorities into the circumstances of his death & full application of the law. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this time,” the embassy said.
