By A Correspondent- Addressing party members at Davies Hall in Bulawayo Saturday, Zanu Pf’s National Political Commissar, Victor Matemadanda scoffed at organisers of the 31 July demonstrations saying it was only a social media fuss and nothing more.

Said Matemadanda:

“There was a demonstration planned for 31 July 2020, it was only noise from the Twitter brigade and absence of actual people on the ground. Those who organised the demonstrations then addressed the nation saying they did not want to have an actual march but wanted the country to shut down and considered their plan as a ‘success’.

But now we are seeing the Americans saying there are abuses of human rights as people did not take to the streets, how, when the organisers said they had successfully launched a demonstration.”
