As Kuraone’s family appreciates the MDC Alliance family support

Yesterday, Masvingo MDC Alliance leaders visited parents of imprisoned MDC Alliance National youth organiser and Masvingo ward 4 councillor Godfrey Kuraone in Zibowa village in Zaka East.

The Masvingo MDC Alliance braved cold and rainy weather and travelled almost 300kms to Zibowa village from Masvingo urban where they reside.

The purpose of visiting parents of councillor Godfrey Kuraone was in three fold: to give solidarity to councillor Kuraone’s parents, lawyer to explain the councillor Kuraone’s court cases and to give groceries to councillor Kuraone’s parents.

Four people who visited councillor Kuraone’s parents were accompanied by his wife are : Masvingo MDC Alliance National member leader Matara, Masvingo MDC Alliance youth leader Mr Kingsley Sibanda, Masvingo MDC Alliance youth leader Mr Nyahunda, Human Rights lawyer Advocate Martin Mureri and Dr. Munyaradzi Chidarikire.

The mother of councillor Kuraone said, “I want to thank you my sons and daughters for visiting us as parents and family members of Godfrey Kuraone. Your solidarity in this difficult moment is greatly appreciated. As a mother my heart is painful. I am having sleepless nights thinking about my son Godfrey. May God be with my son Godfrey in prison. I pray that God will grant him freedom.”

Advocate Martin Mureri explained in detail all issues surrounding councillor Kuraone’s arrest, imprisonment and court proceedings.

Masvingo MDC National member leader Matara encouraged Gogo Kuraone to pray and remain strong in this difficult moment. She further explained that, as MDC Alliance family led by President Nelson Chamisa appreciates the great work being done by her son Godfrey Kuraone.

Youth leaders Mr Kingsley and Mr Nyahunda explained the great role MDC National youth organiser Godfrey Kuraone is doing in the youth assembly.

The MDC Alliance delegation also explained the financial, material and emotional support the MDC Alliance family is giving to councillor Kuraone’s family.

Sekuru Nyasha Muziri, councillor Kuraone’s uncle said, “We as Kuraone family greatly appreciate MDC Alliance president Nelson Chamisa and MDC Alliance family for support us in this terrible time. I kindly request you the delegation that visited us, to convey our message of appreciation to President Nelson Chamisa and MDC Alliance leaders for their unwavering support.”
