By A Correspondent| The trial of former Chief Magistrate Mishrod Guvamombe is expected to commence at the Harare High Court today.

He is being charged with criminal abuse of office.

In January this year the State dropped the charges against him before plea and advised that he would be summoned in due course for the trial.

Guvamombe is alleged to have recommended attachment places for former Cabinet Ministers, Supa Mandiwanzira and Saviour Kasukuwere, who were studying law at the University of Zimbabwe when they had pending criminal charges.

He also faces charges of defeating the course of justice after he allegedly directed a subordinate, Elijah Makomo, to recuse himself in a trial involving his alleged business partner’s son.
