By Jane Mlambo| Government has announced that the Gweru Prosecutor Namatirai Chipere who contested and won in the Zanu PF District Coordinating Committee elections had already resigned from her government position.
Posting on Twitter following what they said were media inquiries regarding Chipere’s issue, Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services said she resigned from the National Prosecution Authority.
“We received a number of Media Inquiries regarding Gweru Prosecutor, Namatirai Chipere who we understand contested and won Zanu PF DCC Elections. Govt wishes to advise that in line with constitutional requirements, the Prosecutor resigned from the National Prosecution Authority,” the ministry said.
Chipere’s poster campaigning for a Zanu PF DCC elections caused a stir on social media after it was revealed that she is a Prosecutor at the Gweru Magistrates Court.
