1. Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo had to be hospitalised after a stabbing incident at the Mangosuthu University of Technology in Umlazi.

He also faces charges of assault after his alleged attacker laid counter-charges.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Jay Naicker explained police are investigating two counts of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and crimen injuria but said the information around the incident is still somewhat unclear.

The spokesperson said two men were involved in an altercation at an event at the university on Sunday afternoon.

Naicker said both men claim to have been stabbed, one with a broken bottle and one with a knife.

They will both appear before the Umlazi Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
