Tinashe Sambiri|In a typical case of politicization of the courts, the State has shifted the date of Alan Moyo’s bail application hearing without informing the defence team.
According to a statement released by the MDC Alliance, Alan Moyo was supposed to appear in court on Monday. However the case has been moved to February 10.
“Alan Moyo ‘s lawyer Obey Shava confirmed to Change Radio that Alan who was supposed to appear in court today will now be in court on the 10th of February.
The state moved the dates without informing the defense,” said the MDC Alliance.
According to MDC Alliance Students Council Secretary General Rujeko Hither Mpambwa, the postponement of Alan Moyo’s case is calculated to punish the human rights activist.
“We are witnessing worst form of abuse of the courts by Mr Mnangagwa’s administration. The postponement is meant to punish our comrade. As we have said before Mnangagwa must release all political prisoners,” said Mpambwa.
