Tinashe Sambiri|Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa is running a dangerous securocratic State, prominent political analyst, Dr Ibbo Mandaza has said.

Citizens are no longer safe in their own country as Mnangagwa is using secret agents to eliminate dissenting voices.

Below is a statement compiled by the MDC Alliance on Dr Mandaza’s article:

Prominent academic and political analyst Ibbo Mandaza says the reason why President Emmerson Mnangagwa went for two months without holding cabinet meetings is that Zimbabwe is now practically a securocratic state run by security structures.

Mnangagwa has a security background.

A securocratic state, run through police, intelligence and military structures, is dangerous as it is undemocratic, unaccountable and violent, as well as usually corrupt and incompetent.
