There was drama as MDC Alliance legislator for Harare West, Joana Mamombe refused to leave the hospital where she was admitted to return to prison.

Mamombe had been taken to the hospital after she had fallen ill in prison. When prison officers came to the hospital to take her back to prison, she was adamant that she was not going anywhere since she was still in pain.

Reports suggested that the prison officers stormed Mambombe’s hospital bed and forcibly removed her before she had completed medical treatment prescribed by her doctors and without following the hospital’s discharge protocols!
