Three women from Nyanga, who were captured on camera brutally assaulting a fellow woman, have been released on remand after appearing in court on Tuesday. The trio was arrested on Monday following a viral social media video of the assault.

Zimbabwe Republic Police Deputy Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Blessmore Chishaka, confirmed the arrest, stating, “We noted the public’s concerns over the video and confirm that the incident occurred in Nyanga. The three women have been arrested, appeared in court, and the matter is being addressed.”

The video shows an unidentified woman accusing the victim of cheating with her husband, “Baba Oliver.” Despite the victim’s attempts to defend herself, the woman, joined by two others, violently assaulted her.

This incident comes after six teenagers were arrested and convicted in July for assaulting a female colleague in Hwedza.
