By Showbiz Reporter-Controversial businessman and Zanu PF apologist, Wicknell Chivhayo has sparked fresh debate after gifting a brand-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class to Peter Moyo, the son of late sungura legend Tongai “Dhewa” Moyo.

Chivhayo made the announcement on social media over the weekend, stating that the gift was a gesture to honour the legacy of the late musician through his son.

In his flamboyant style, Chivhayo posted:

Peter Moyo now joins a growing list of local celebrities who have received luxury vehicles from Chivhayo, whose displays of wealth continue to raise eyebrows. 

Known for his extravagant lifestyle, Chivhayo has often flaunted his riches—from private jets to opulent holidays—while controversies swirl about the true source of his income.

Chivhayo’s business dealings, including state-awarded contracts, have long been shrouded in allegations of corruption and mismanagement. 

Chief among them is the Gwanda Solar Project, which has faced significant scrutiny for delays despite receiving millions in funding.

While some fans of the late Tongai Moyo welcomed the gesture as a fitting tribute to a musical icon, critics questioned Chivhayo’s motives and the lack of clarity surrounding his finances.
