Acting President Kembo Mohadi on Friday offered a somewhat underwhelming celebration for the installation of bucket seats at the National Sports Stadium in Harare, a move he highlighted as a key achievement of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration.
During a media briefing in the capital, Mohadi spoke about the new seating as a significant development for the country’s sports infrastructure. “We are happy with the installation of bucket seats at the National Sports Stadium. It’s a sign of positive things to come,” he remarked.
In addition to the seating upgrade, Mohadi emphasized that 2024 was a year of notable progress for Zimbabwe. He pointed to several key areas of development, including the introduction of the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) currency, major infrastructure projects, and initiatives designed to boost agricultural productivity, sports, health, and regional integration.
He also praised President Mnangagwa’s leadership, stating, “Under the stewardship of President Mnangagwa, the Government has taken bold and decisive actions to pursue and consolidate a development thrust aimed at achieving Vision 2030.”
