A shocking incident has come to light in Harare, where a 20-year-old man from Mazowe was allegedly robbed and raped by three women. The suspects, Diana Sibanda, 35, Brendy Msipa, 35, and Tabeth Harris, 33, appeared in court on charges of robbery and sexual assault.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on January 25 when the victim was driving on Leopold Takawira Street. Sibanda allegedly forced open the passenger door, stole the victim’s phone, and threatened him with a screwdriver. The victim was then taken to a nearby house, where Msipa and Harris allegedly joined in, undressing and raping him.
The trio allegedly demanded money, stealing US$20 and later US$80. They also forced the victim to hire a taxi to his home. However, the situation took a turn when the victim spotted police nearby and called for help, leading to the women’s arrest and the recovery of his belongings.
The suspects have been remanded in custody until February 13, pending further investigation.
