Former Vice President Joice Mujuru has appointed a 39 year old technocract, Philani Noble to lead her party in the United Kingdom.
Mr Philani Noble (39), a former MDC-Tsvangirai turk and a Film Studies expert (READ MORE -CLICK HERE), was on the 23rd January elected the new provincial leader following Mujuru’s instructions to ditch old war veterans many who are now in their 70s.
In an announcement, the party’s information secretary-virtual Sylvester Nguni said following their Birmingham meeting, they have elected Noble the coordinator. Noble comes on board after Mujuru dissolved the previous committtee led by Josh Chigwangwa.
Announced Nguni” People First builders converged at a Birmingham country club on the 23rd of January 2016 to attend a widely publicised People First UK and Europe meeting. The Builders present represented the diversity Zimbabwe enjoys. The People First builders present spoke passionately of the need for peace, reconciliation and a new era that will see Zimbabwe being led by a younger generation. Many expressed their anger and disgust at the fast deteriorating situation in the country.
“The Builders present applauded Builder Dr Amai Joice Mujuru for her bravery and willingness to stand as the voice of reason in a Zimbabwe that is now experiencing social, economic and political decay.
“She is seen to be only one who can bring Zimbabweans from different ethnic, political and racial backgrounds together and usher in a new Zimbabwe.
“The Builders present unanimously nominated Philani Noble as the interim spokesperson, leader and coordinator for the UK province. Philani Noble has a knack for consensus building and is armed with shrewd political sensibilities. Born in Insiza, Filabusi , he did his high school education at Milton High School in Bulawayo he holds an Information Technology and Business Management Degree with Honours from Luton and Sunderland University in the United Kingdom.
“Builder Phil Noble humbly accepted the nomination and expressed his gratitude and the need for unity and progress in the UK province He undertook to hit the ground running and together with fellow builders work to align the UK People First Province with others elsewhere.
