Barely two days after party officials began plotting to remove Welshman Ncube from leadership citing incompetency as the reason, the man’s National Standing Committee today voted to kick out Secretary General Moses Mzila Ndlovu.
Ndlovu was today hit as more officials were also named and are now to stand before the disciplinary committee.

“King Welsh is in-charge and in control, and is not going anywhere,” party spokesman Kurauone Chihwayi told ZimEye on Thursday 48 hours before today’s meeting.
The group of pro Ncube senior cadres met in Bulawayo on Saturday afternoon and “unanimously passed a vote of no confidence in the Acting Secretary General, Moses Mzila Ndlovu.
“The vote of no confidence is a culmination of profound dissatisfaction with the Acting Secretary General’s failure to perform virtually all the functions of his office, including failure to call meetings of the organs of the party, failure to administer party offices and party affairs, failure to put in motion and prepare the processes for the conduct of the party’s elective congress due this year and failure to implement the decisions of the Standing Committee,” the statement read.

 
It continued, “the Acting Secretary General has failed to competently, efficiently and effectively conduct party affairs and generally failed to measure up to the demands of his office which have included complete dereliction of duty.”
A statement released Saturday (CLICK TO READ MORE) seen by ZimEye states that: “The Standing Committee noted that there were a few members of the leadership within the National Executive Committee who have of late engaged in nefarious activities contrary to the party constitution and calculated to undermine the interests of the party, and resolved to refer these individuals to the National Disciplinary Committee in terms of the party constitution to be dealt with in accordance with the available evidence.
