1600 – Magistrate releases  Lumumba on bail.
– 1500:  Representing the state, Oscar Madhume urged that, Lumumba was not fit for bail after the investigating officer Detective Assistant Inspector Ivan Njanike had told the court that Lumumba was responsible for the ongoing protests which have rocked the country.
Njanike said that if released, Lumumba would cause more chaos in the country adding that the prison was only a safe place for the former Zanu PF activist.
His attorney Ashiel Mugiya said that by handing over himself to the police, Lumumba showed that he is a law abiding citizen.
Magistrate Chikwekwe is expected to making his bail ruling this afternoon, Wednesday. ZimEye.com will update our valued members, readers, and contributors as the case progresses.

1130 – Lumumba entered the Harare magistrates court at around 10am.
He is being tried in Court 9, room 6.
Meanwhile, the police have struggled to raise a credible case against him as the legislation used to previously incriminate people who voice out against President Robert Mugabe in what is claimed “insulting or undermining the office of the President,” has been long stripped off the statutes. Senior judges were at the time of writing salivating to humiliate the prosecution. Justice Malaba and his large bench of jurists have already in writing reprimanded the police and the Prosecutor General for wasting taxpayers’ money on cases worse than Lumumba’s.
