By Staff Reporter| The below video taken on Sunday has seen MDC leader Nelson Chamisa being attacked for travelling in a motorcade “as if he is a Head Of State,” as critics said. What is the true story?

ZimEye can reveal the footage of cars seen driving into Mkoba stadium, Gweru circulating on social media is not of Chamisa’s motorcade.

One commentator wrote attacking Chamisa saying, “in accordance to the laws in Zim, only the Head of State is entitled to a motorcade, unless otherwise specified. Service Chiefs are allowed a motorcade only on independence and Defence Forces Day from camp to the stadium and their vehicles shall remove ordinary number plates and wear rank plates subject to a salute by the military personnel whether the incumbent is in the car or not. However if the boss goes out of the car the driver or the ADC or Footsman (who sits in front of the car with the driver) must immediately cover the rank plates.

“In any event, if a member of public complain for delays due to an unsanctioned motorcade, he/she can sue for damages.”

But ZimEye did a LIVE coverage of the function and ZimEye can reveal that vehicles are those of the MDC Alliance Principals, and the National Executive of all 7 parties in the MDC Alliance when they arrived at the stadium. They arrived in the morning as they function began and soon after people had assembled. The arrival was programmed to make it appear like a triumphal entry. BELOW WAS THE VIDEO:
