The country’ s main opposition party, MDC has been rocked by imposition of candidates for both Parliamentary and local government elections, it has emerged.

In a damning letter written to the Provincial Executive disgruntled party members accused Chairperson James Gumbi of imposing candidates- flouting party regulations in the process.

” We are not happy with the blatant imposition of candidates by controversial MDC-T Provincial Chairman James Gumbi.

It’s now evident to all and sundry that Gumbi meant what he said considering that he -at one time – promised to impose candidates for the coming watershed elections.

Who is James Gumbi and what values does he add?”reads part of the letter that is circulating on various social media platforms.

“Under the chairmaship of Gumbi, Masvingo province has experienced more chaos than order and members of his self-serving cabal have brought more harm than good to the MDC-T.

The MDC was formed to fight the evils of cronyism and patronage.

This is antithetical to the values of MDC.The MDC was formed and founded by the people under Morgan Tsvangirai. Indeed Morgan Tsvangirai must be turning in his grave,” reads another part of the letter.
