MDC National Chairperson Morgen Komichi has sternly warned aspiring candidates to desist from using party leader Nelson Chamisa’s name to solicit votes.

Below is a statement that has been released by Komichi:

I would like to warn all aspiring Candidates who abuse their proximity to the offices of the President and National Chairperson claiming that they have been approved by us as individual offices.

I want to categorically distance the president and myself from such undemocratic practices.

Candidates are chosen by the people. I want to appeal to all MDCT members to chose their favourite candidates democratically.

NO IMPOSITION of candidates please. I would like to thank all those who went through the Consensus Building process peacefully.

We will soon announce dates for primaries. Get ready. I love you all.
