President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said the country’ s plebiscite, scheduled for July 30 is a mere formality because the ruling party will win resoundingly.

Addressing party supporters at a rally in Chinhoyi today Mnangagwa said: “According to the Constitution of Zimbabwe elections must be held after every five years and this year’ s plebiscite is a mere formality because Zanu PF will win convincingly.

We will continue to rule this country and those who think Zanu PF will crumble are totally misguided,” said Mnangagwa.

“We are already making preparations for victory celebrations because we are miles ahead of the small parties that are making a lot of noise,” added Mnangagwa.

Opposition parties claim Zanu PF is clandestinely working with ZEC to rig the coming polls.
