By Own Correspondent| There was drama at Rotten Rown court (Thursday) as controversial businessperson and socialite Wicknell Chivayo and Genius Kadungure were arrested on their way out of court.

The duo were picked up by detectives soon after appearing in court to answer to a fraud case in which they allegedly swindled Chegutu West legislator, Dexter Nduna.

It was not clear on why the two were picked up by police.

However, Chivayo was last week implicated in a $10 000 bribery case that resulted in the arrest of a Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) employee Nyasha Kazhanje.

Independent legislator for Norton, Temba Mliswa said Kazhanje was supposed to be arrested together with Chivayo as they both committed a crime.

Said Mliswa:

“Whilst Kazhanje (former ZPC Chair) was arrested on allegations of receiving a $10k bribe from Chivayo, isn’t corruption two ways unless it’s a set up? What of the one who proffered the bribe?”
