Own Correspondent|Social media platforms that went down in the country at midnight on Monday have been restored as of Tuesday at 06:30am, ZimEye.com can reveal.

Scores of ZimEye.com readers inundated the media over night indicating that they could not get access to their social media sites and believed that government had lived to threats that the sites would be shut down.

Reports coming in indicate that the sites are now up and running much to the relief of the addicted users.

The government has in various statements claimed that social media has been behind the wide spread civic protests that rocked the country on Monday.
