Farai Dziva|Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa has reassigned senior army to diplomatic missions in a move calculated to weed out elements believed to be sympathetic to former President Robert Mugabe.

According to state media reports, Mnangagwa has reassigned Major General Douglas Nyikayaramba, Major General Martin Chedondo, Major General Anselem Sanyatwe and Air Force deputy commander, Shebba Shumbayaonda to diplomatic missions.

Zanu PF insiders have revealed the move is meant to purge elements that are sympathetic to Mugabe. However some sources argue the so called promotion of the army generals is a result of the silent battle between Mnangagwa and Constantino Chiwenga.

“That’s a clever gambit well calculated to purge individuals thought to be aligned the Mugabe administration.

Mnangagwa wants to establish his own system. This is a complete overhaul that is taking place,” intelligence sources revealed.
