Paul Nyathi|Angered by his huge appetite for flying both in and outside the country, crafty Zimbabweans have found new names for President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Mnangagwa has been surnamed “Tongombeya,” on the social media, a Shona word meaning one who is always meaninglessly on the road, a name usually applied on people with a mental disorder.
To add to the drama, the President’s first name has been crafted as “Scarfmore” created from the colourful scarf that he always wonders around with on his neck.
Zimbabweans have a unique style of adding “more” to names such as “Lovemore, Passmore, Praymore, Givemore, Takemore” and several others hence the creation of “Scarfmore.”
A hilarious photoshopped Zimbabwean identity card crafted for Mnangagwa with his new names has taken social media by storm in the last few days with Zimbabweans congratulating whoever created the identity card for clearly expressing Zimbabwe’s frustrations on the President’s trips.
Since taking over from former President Robert Mugabe in November 2017, Mnangagwa has been hiring very expensive jets and flying around the world wantonly much to the anger of Zimbabweans who believe he is wasting state funds as the trips never bring anything for the country.

Mnangagwa is expected to leave Harare again this morning for Johannesburg, South Africa on a jet hired from Malaysia which charges on an hourly rate and has been in the country since Wednesday last week.
