Farai Dziva |A 25-year-old man from Mushumbi Pools has been arrested for allegedly killing his with a hammer.

Clive Jimmy of Bandayi village under Chief Chisunga in Mushumbi Pools allegedly killed his father with a hammer after he accused him of witchcraft, according to the police.

Jimmy was not asked to plead when he appeared before Guruve resident magistrate Shingirai Mutiro, who remanded him in custody to April 24.

The state, alleged that Jimmy was convinced by a Mbire traditional healer that family members had caused his mental sickness and failure to marry.

” The accused took a hammer and smashed his father Idaek Jimmy (59)’s head.

His father was rushed to Parirenyatwa hospital where he died the following day,” the court heard.
