MDC Deputy Treasurer, Charlton Hwende has overtaken the outgoing Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora nominations for the top post.

This comes as party’s congress in May draws nigh. Statistics so far reflect Hwende leading with 8 nominations out of the 11 provincial nominations that have been held.

Trailing behind are: Douglas Mwonzora, Welshman Ncube, and Daniel Molokele l, who all have one nomination each.

Hwende has secured nominations from the provinces of: Harare, Masvingo, Manicaland, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Midlands, Mashonaland West and North America. The party will hold its UK congress in Leeds on Saturday.
