Namibian Soldier Fatally Shoots Zim Taxi Driver

By A Correspondent- A NAMIBIA Defence Force member was arrested after he allegedly fatally shot a taxi driver during the early hours of Thursday.

According to police spokesperson chief inspector Kauna Shikwambi, the soldier was in the company of a police officer during a ‘Operation Kalahari Desert’ patrol.

Shikwambi said the taxi driver was shot after he allegedly tried to make a U-turn to avoid the police manning a roadblock that was set up in Monica Street at Greenwell Matongo informal settlement.

The deceased has not been identified but police investigations continue.
