
Warriors’ die-hard fan Alvin ‘Aluvah’ Zhakata has completed his trip from Cape to Cairo by road and arrived in the Egyptian capital only to find the national team long gone.
A daring Zhakata, a staunch Dynamos supporter, embarked on the journey to watch the 2019 Afcon finals together with his South African counterpart, Botha Msila, who later abandoned the road trip and flew to Cairo.
Zhakata however persevered despite challenges at some points of entry until he finally arrived.
After a long silence that had made people concerned, Zhakata resurfaced on social media where he posted that he had made history by completing a road trip from Capetown to Cairo.
“History made. The first and only human being to complete a journey by road Cape to Cairo for a sporting tournament is a proud Zimbabwean named Alvin Zhakata,” he posted.
Sadly, Zhakata arrives in Egypt at a time his exited the stage in embarrassing fashion after being dismissed by 4 nil ny the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He is likely to join his friend, Msila, in supporting Bafana Bafana who are facing Nigeria in the quarter finals of the tournament after pushing out hosts Egypt on Saturday.
