By A Correspondent| The Fire Brigade is still investigating the cause of the fire which destroyed a building at the Corner of Robert Mugabe and Chinhoyi Street.

Fire Brigade Divisional officer Clever Mafoti said they believe the fire could have started way before it was noticed and when the fire fighters arrived the inferno had already engulfed most of the property inside the building.

“It was difficult for us to know the cause of the fire because when we arrived at the scene 99 percent of it had been destroyed,” he said.

“We received a call at 0042hrs and were at the scene at 0047hrs. There were no witnesses to tell us what could have happened,”

He said signs at the scene indicate that the fire might have active inside the building with no one noticing.

The fire was put off around 0800 hours.
