By James Gwati-A team of overzealous traffic police was this week in Bulawayo central business district beaten up by angry Mushikashika operators.
The incident happened after the cops had intercepted a kombi that was involved in an accident while fleeing from being arrested by the same.
The angry kombi drivers ganged up with some people who were nearby and attacked traffic police officers before smashing the rear windscreen of their patrol vehicle.
Police in Harare and Bulawayo are playing cat and mouse game with kombis which have been banned from carrying the community public by the government.
Last week President Emerson Mnangagwa told the police that they should intercept any Kombi seen pirating in the city centre which is not under the Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (Zupco) banner.
