A devastating accident occurred late Wednesday night on the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road, resulting in the loss of two lives.

Two South African-registered haulage trucks collided head-on, sparking a catastrophic fire that engulfed both vehicles.

The Bulawayo Fire Brigade responded promptly, arriving on the scene at 00:14 after receiving the distress call at 23:30.

Unfortunately, firefighters found the drivers trapped and burnt beyond recognition.

Preliminary investigations suggest one truck was on the wrong side of the road approaching Victoria Falls. The exact cause is still under review.
