Warriors coach Michael Nees has addressed theh possibility of calling up Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro and other foreign-born players to the national team.

Chivaviro, who was born in South Africa, qualifies to play for Zimbabwe through his father and has shown interest in representing the Warriors if selected.

Following the Warriors’ 3-1 victory over Namibia at Orlando Stadium on Monday, Nees clarified that Chivaviro wouldn’t automatically secure a spot on the national team.

He stated, “We have a long list of players and are interested in every talented individual. However, we also have many capable players within our ranks. We are monitoring all options, and when the time is right, we will decide whether to reach out to him. It’s not solely about someone playing for Kaizer Chiefs.

While we keep an eye on every player, we must also recognize the contributions of those already in the squad. Our list is extensive, and our goal is to add value, not just recruit anyone.”
