Ethiopian Airways Launches First Flight to Vic Falls

Ethiopian airlines has launched its flight from Addis Ababa to Victoria Falls to improve accessibility of the resort town.

The aircraft touched down at Victoria Falls international airport at 1235hrs Sunday afternoon.

The aircraft was welcomed with a traditional water canon as well as cultural dances by traditional dance groups.

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Dr Joram Gumbo is leading the delegation that is attending the ceremony and is joined by Ethiopian Airlines management, players in the tourism sector as well as the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ).

The maiden flight comes just a few weeks after South African Airways launched an Airbus A330-200 on the Victoria Falls-Johannesburg route. – State Media
