ZimEye.com brings out a live coverage of the #ShutDownZim mass stay-away and protest against the Robert Mugabe led government’s continued abuses of citizens.    ——-  
We give you updates of the Shut Down Zimbabwe protest.
1810 – Mugabe gives in, orders Finance Ministry and Labour Ministry to pay civil servants their salaries. Supa Mandiwanzira (acting Labour Minister) announces on state radio he has been instructed by Mugabe to with immediate effect pay civil servants.
1645 – Mass celebrations as Acie Lumumba is released. The state had been claiming he is the rebel leader of the on-going protest. – READ MORE:   Lumumba Wins

1535 – Anti riot cops regain ground, force youths to retreat with teargas. Retreating youths not giving in and are still throwing stones.

1535 – Cops run for dear lives in Makokoba after hundreds of stone throwing youths confront them.
Cops had fired teargas to force youths to disperse from the main Luveve road that leads to the CBD.
Youths were burning tyres blocking all vehicles from using the road.
The cops retreated.
Youths now going to CBD, and they are chanting “Lets go to Choppies.”
Bulawayo youths force police to further retreat as march to CBD march gathers pace. Youths are stoning police water cannon, anti riot cops, china shop stoned and looted.
Police reinforcements sent in, more water cannons to block rioters from further entering CBD. Cops are stationed at Corner 2nd and 3rd Ave, Lobengula St.
1500 – Meanwhile, the state charge against Acie Lumumba blaming him for causing the ongoing riots. Representing the state, Oscar Madhume urged that, Lumumba was not fit for bail after the investigating officer Detective Assistant Inspector Ivan Njanike had told the court that Lumumba was responsible for the ongoing protests which have rocked the country.

1230 – Petrol bomb thrown at ZIMRA port in Bulawayo and one car for ZIMRA taken , Zimra employees vacated premises.

08.49 – Reports continue reaching ZimEye that WhatsApp is still blocked.
0810 – MASVINGO: Police and soldiers still absent. There no roadblocks to town in Masvingo.
0750 – Telone internet is down. This could be because govt is trying to shut down or at least limit social media. It was working last night at midnight. 0730 – There is no transport in Glen View 1 people at standing at bus stops. Some who start work early have resorted to going back home.

0630 – Warren Park (to city) Roundabout closed off, barricaded by angry protesters. No vehicles can pass through.
0620 – Bulawayo,  Police officers, soldiers absent. Cops and army sp far appear to have stayed away as well. Burnt tyres in Njube, Bellevue, Khami roads. No police presence at all. No kombis.
0550 – Quiet in some other places show Zimbabweans have heeded the #ShutDownZim.

0500 – In Harare, protests have started in Glenview, Dzivarasekwa where people are burning tyres.
In Zengeza, by this time of the day it used to be noisy with cars of the touts and their Hwindis but today it’s unsually quiet. Even vendors who by this hour used to be queueing to go for orders in Chikwanha and Mbare they are all indoors playing a wait and see attitude.
0400 – Zimbabweans start freely circulating formulae for making petrol bombs and publish all this on the social networks Facebook, and WhatsApp. Some even publicly print out using their full names the intention that the bombs will be used to attack all and any police officers and soldiers who encroach to assault innocent Zimbabweans.
0000 – Previous Day: Activists, war veterans and civil service trade unions have called for and endorsed the nationwide stay-away, which is running under hashtag #ShutDownZim.
The shut down comes in the wake of renewed state security abuses and suppression of demonstrations as the abusive police force begged for a truce with the public whose angers have comtinued to flame up.
