GMB Unleashes Police On Farmers
By A Correspondent -The bankrupt Grain Marketing Board (GMB) has unleashed the police on farmers who are harvesting their maize to force them to deliver grain to its silos.
The state media reports that police officers have been deployed in roadblocks along major roads to “curb illegal” movement of grain.
The authoritarian regime has maintained a Statutory Instrument on controlled crops, such as maize and soya beans which restrict the movement of these grains.
GMB chief executive Mr Rockie Mutenha yesterday confirmed the development to the state media.
“We encourage beneficiaries of Pfumvudza to start delivering their crops,” he said.
All the 2,5 million beneficiaries of the Pfumvudza programme were urged to deliver the surplus to GMB.
“An individual is only allowed to ferry five bags of maize and three bags of soya beans for personal use. For larger quantities, individuals or corporates will be required to have a valid movement permit issued by the GMB.
“The police and authorised persons shall enforce provisions of the GMB Act. The GMB deploys inspectors to act as authorised persons,” said Mutenha.
ailed Bindura Serial Rapist Has Several Previous convictions
By A Correspondent- The Jailed 39-year-old Bindura paedophile has several previous convictions.
Kwaramasa Kwaramasa, sexually assaulted seven girls aged between five and 12 years was yesterday sentenced to 55 years in jail by a Bindura magistrate.
Kwaramasa pleaded guilty to the charges and Bindura magistrate Mr Lungile Ncube sentenced him to 10 years on each of the five counts of rape, and five years on attempted rape, before suspending 10 years.
In passing sentence, Mr Ncube considered that Kwaramasa was not a first offender and was pardoned during this year’s Presidential amnesty.
He told the court that he does not know what caused him to commit the crimes.
Kwaramasa lured all the girls into secluded bushy areas after asking them for directions to various places in Bindura, before raping them.
Prosecutor Mrs Gossy Mutambu said on May 6 at around 9 am, a nine-year-old girl was playing by the roadside with her eight-year-old friend when Kwaramasa approached them asking for directions to Garati gold panning site.
He offered a dollar for the assistance, and the nine-year-old agreed and walked the man towards the Garati site while her friend returned home.
Upon reaching a grassy area, Kwaramasa ordered the minor to sit down and he sexually assaulted her. He fled the scene and the minor walked back home and revealed the matter to her mother.
On March 5, a seven-year-old minor who was coming from a school with her two friends aged three and four met Kwaramasa who held her hand and asked to be shown the way to Ran Mine.
She instructed her friends to go home and agreed to accompany the man. After approaching a secluded bushy area, Kwaramasa raped the girl and escorted her towards her home after the act.
The matter only came to light on March 15 when the minor started discharging a whitish substance and revealed the sexual assault.
On April 23 at around 2 pm, Kwaramasa met a 12-year-old who was coming from school with her friend and started chasing them.
He caught the 12-year-old and carried her to a grassy area where he raped her and fled.
The minor proceeded home and advised her guardian who reported the attack to the police.
Using the same method, Kwaramasa raped several other girls
Mnangagwa Used His Aide Summon Grace Mugabe To Chief Zvimba Court
By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa used one of his aids, a CIO to summon the former First Lady Grace Mugabe to a traditional court to force the exhumation of the late former President Robert Mugabe’s remains.
This came out after Thursday, Chief Zvimba, born Stanley Mhondoro, had distanced himself from the plot to summon Grace to his court.
The summons was delivered to Mugabe’s posh Borrowdale residence in Harare on April 29 by top police officers in the company of an aide from President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s office.
The summons was issued by the officer-in-charge Borrowdale Police Station, a chief inspector, an inspector, an assistant inspector, a messenger from Chief Zvimba’s court identified as Elvis Hundere and Jeremiah Moyo, from the President’s Office.
The summon was inviting Grace to Chief Zvimba’s traditional court to answer to charges of “improperly” burying Mugabe at his Kutama homestead in September 2019.
The State had wanted him to be interred at the National Heroes Acre, but the family stood its ground and buried him as per “his wish”.
“I know nothing about this issue (summons),” Chief Zvimba told NewsDay yesterday.
“I am hearing it only from inquiries coming from here and there. I know absolutely nothing about that.”
He added: “I have not seen anything and I have nothing to say on that because I am in the dark. I am not aware of anything.”
Mugabe’s nephew Patrick Zhuwao accused Mnangagwa’s administration of sponsoring the attempt to have his uncle’s remains exhumed.
He cited the involvement of Moyo in delivering the summons at Mugabe’s Blue Roof mansion as a clear indication of Mnangagwa’s involvement in the matter.
Zhuwao told South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) that the alleged attempt by the government to exhume Mugabe’s remains was motivated by a belief that the veteran leader was buried with a sceptre that has spiritual powers which enhances a leader’s ability to govern.
“We took a position as a family and that position was informed by President Mugabe’s wishes to be buried at his rural home and that is what we did,” Zhuwao told SABC on Wednesday.
He added: “The reason that he wants to exhume the mortal remains of President Mugabe is that he has been looking for a sceptre that he believes has the authority to be a leader of Zimbabwe.
“Mnangagwa, in my presence and in the presence of two of my colleagues, has indicated that he believes they are 16 traditional leaders who will effectively anoint the person that will be able to effectively govern and rule Zimbabwe and he believes that President Mugabe had that sceptre.
“He believed the sceptre was buried with him.
“Why would an officer from his office deliver summons from a traditional leader? It is unheard of,” he said.
But Zanu PF and government officials took to Twitter to dismiss Zhuwao’s assertions as “childish” and “belittling to Mugabe”.
“The desperation to spread fake news reaches shocking milestones, inviting Zhuwao to lie that Mugabe was buried with something that President Mnangagwa wants to win elections in 2023,” Zanu PF director of information Tafadzwa Mugwadi said.
Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba also tweeted: “Hanzi sceptre pana VaMugabe! (We are told Mugabe has a sceptre!) Turning such an anti-feudal revolutionary into an anachronistic monarch! A bit of enlightenment helps, dear Zimbabweans! Kufananidza vaMugabe naEmperor Bokassa shuwa here? (likeneing Mugabe to Emperor Bokassa … really?). Information secretary Ndavaningi Mangwana also joined the fray, mocking Mugabe “for being buried” with a sceptre, which failed to resuscitate the economy.

Mutambara Belittles Mwonzora
By A Correspondent- Former Deputy Prime Minister, Professor Arthur Mutambara said the Daglous Mwonzora led MDC outfit had no substance in the country’s politics.
Mutambara was this week commenting on the recent constitutional amendment 2 which was passed into law by President Emmerson Mnangagwa last week after it sailed through the Senate with the assistance of Mwonzora’s senators.
The former deputy Prime Minister said Mwonzora was a true appendage of Zanu PF.
“ The Zanu-PF created outfit – MDC T is both inept and intellectually bankrupt. They have no social base,” said Mutambara.
“However, it is instructive to note that the differences between the MDC-A and MDC-T can only be settled by a national election. Will MDC-T keep those ill-gotten Mps?’, he said.

Solskjaer Blames Protesting Fans For Loss To Liverpool
Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has blamed the protesting fans for their 4-2 defeat to rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Thursday.

United were forced to arrive at the match venue six hours earlier after their supporters had planned a repeat of the protests against club owners, the Glazer family, that forced the fixture to be postponed 11 days ago.
Speaking after the defeat, Solskjaer said: “The preparation has been different but we aren’t going to make an excuse with that.
“We prepare a certain way in every game but couldn’t do that today.
“It’s probably affected them (the players) a little it but none of the players have made an excuse of it.
“The players handled the situation well, none have been complaining and they just got on to it.
“There was no point losing energy over what you can’t control.”

Mane Snubs Klopp Handshake
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has explained why Sadio Mane ignored him after the team beat Manchester United 2-4 at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
The Senegalese forward, who came in as a second half substitute, was visibly unhappy with the coach and shunned him as he sought a handshake after the full-time whistle.
In his post-match presser, Klopp said Mane’s reaction was simply down to a lack of explanation from him over why he was dropped from the starting XI ahead of the match.
“Yes, I made a late decision in training, really late and changed Diogo (Jota) for Sadio,” Klopp said.
“And in that moment for a Premier League game, Sadio was obviously not too happy, that is all.
“And the players are used to that, I explain that, but I didn’t do that properly or whatever.
“The boys are used to me explaining but there was no time for that, that’s the situation. All fine.”- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Kill Me If I Fail To Deliver Expected Results – New SA Soccer Coach
Recently-recruited South Africa national team coach Hugo Broos has promised the country’s ever-demanding faithful that he will lead his charges to AFCON 2023, saying they can kill him if he fails to do so.
The Belgian tactician replaced sacked Molefi Ntseki in the Bafana Bafana dugout after SAFA had wielded the axe on the latter following a dismal campaign which saw the team missing out on a place at the next AFCON finals in Cameroon in January.
Broos however insists that Bafana will be at the continental spectacle in 2023.
“If we are not qualified for that, you can kill me. I know this country is looking forward to success,” he was quoted as saying by Ghanaian publication Ghana Soccer Net.
“When rebuilding, there are always moments of weakness, so it can happen that we will not qualify for the (2022) World Cup. That said, we will do our utmost to reach Qatar,” Broos added.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Magaya’s Lawyer Everson Chatambudza Wearing Blue Shoes Over Murder Crimes.
By A Correspondent | In the picture is the lawyer, Everson Chatambudza who is named in all of the controversial preacher Walter Magaya’s criminal cases for 7 years to date, which include murder of several people, and several frauds committed.
Chatambudza is this week named by Magaya’s bodyguard, James Dzamu, as the latter confesses to many cases of abuse of vulnerable women including the murders. The lawyer has not cared to pick up calls return them following the latest revelations. DO YOU KNOW HIM?

In a recorded telephone call, Dzamu tells Magaya’s Wife of the preacher’s many proven cases of cheating and abuse of women. He even states that he is the one who has been pulling Magaya out of the fire.
The man, only identified as James Dzamu in a recorded telephone conversation with Magaya’s wife, Tendai, said he is now speaking out as he feels used.
VIDEO LOADING BELOW…The audio, as ZimEye reveals, was verified with two of Magaya’s close colleagues as authentically recorded during a conversation with Magaya’s wife, Tendai.
In the audio, Jimmy states as follows (full transcript)-
Jimmy – Mama, can you hear me?
Tendai Magaya: it (volume) is now clear.
Jimmy: do you see, you could say that things are hard, but other people are receiving things right now. There is a girl called Tadiwa, a college student- he conducted a birthday party for her. Right now, he flew her to Turkey, I know everything, I have got all the details, all of them. But I’m the person who used to pull him out of trouble, the same person who used to rescue him is the one that he is now mishandling.
He is the same person who is now now instructing, that I should come with my lawyer, to conclude our matter in writing. But the things that he himself declared before my lawyer he is refusing to pay up. Why is he so rough?
So me the reason why I called you what I am now doing now is, if the sun sets before his lawyer Charambudza has come to my lawyer to finalise this case, or to sign down in agreement, to give me what they owe me, even if they pay me gradually, the same way they announced earlier, everything is now going public. I’m going to hold a press conference.
I have got nothing to lose, I died a long time ago, I know they are looking for me so that they kill me. I have heard everything. Those that they killed are those that they killed, as for me they can’t manage me.
And leaders in the country now know me that I came from Magaya, and it was because of A, B, C and D. It wasn’t my wish to desert Magaya, but they wanted to get me arrested when they are the ones who are involved; they wanted me imprisoned for a crime I did not commit.
There is no one I ever assaulted. That young brother of his, the one that they are saying is his young brother; there is no one why I ever assaulted(sic).
Right now they are saying Chief (suc) is hungry because of this and that; they are forgetting that for this church to be where it is right now, I had to stand for them, for them not to be arrested but right now they are behaving like Korokozas.
Let’s see what happens.
Tendai Magaya: Oh no, I have taken down your message Mkoma Jimmy.
Jimmy: As for me mama if you hate me I don’t have a problem with you. I don’t have a problem with you at all, I told them the have been saying to me Jimmy, how do you feel when you see Magaya junior suffering?
But (Walter Magaya) Junior right now is surviving better than my kids. He is surviving better than my kids. I don’t want to go 50/50, like that for Junior to go to an international school that is what I would like my own kids to enjoy, but my child must at least have a normal life, isn’t it?
Right now I’m failing to raise money for rent, and yet 9 years working for this man, pulling him out of trouble and today he is forgetting about that. As he goes out with several women. I have got a list of several the likes of Sarah Maruta, and others who were made to a abort by Mar Chivero. I know everything about whatever happened but right now, I don’t know.
The other girl who does IT, Nyari who was the first to have sex inside your house while you were in Nigeria, I know everything, I never disclosed it. I’m very close to you but I never disclosed it. But now is the time for it to be known for the world to know about what has been happening.
Tendai Magaya: Alright mukoma Jimmy let me …
Jimmy: if he doesn’t call my lawyer today, you’re going to hear the whole story.
Tendai Magaya: It’s okay.
Jimmy: Alright, thank you very much mama.

In a short and precise statement, President Chamisa said:”2023 play your part, register to vote, big numbers can’t be rigged.”
The Zanu PF Varakashi team is fighting tooth and nail to discourage citizens from participating in the 2023 polls.

“The notion that elections will not change anything is a gimmick calculated to frustrate urban voters,” observed one political analyst.
“Voter apathy is their trump card. They know that they have the numbers in the rural areas so they want to keep urban voters at bay,” added the analyst.

Can You Lose Weight By Drinking Water?
Here’s what the science has to say on whether your H2O habit can help you shed unwanted pounds.

If there is one “holy grail” secret to keeping your body healthy, it’s drinking plenty of water. The U.S. Geological Survey notes that water makes up as much as 60 percent of our bodies, and it’s responsible for everything from flushing out body waste to regulating body temperature.
“Our bodies are very dependent upon water, as all cells, body compartments, and bodily fluids (for example blood) within the human body contain water to some degree,” explains Albert Do, MD, MPH, a gastroenterologist and the clinical director of the fatty liver program at Yale Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He adds that our kidneys are good at managing the amount of water within our bodies; they make more urine in states of excess water intake, and they reduce urine production during periods of reduced water intake. But the body is more sensitive to states of water deprivation, and is generally not able to survive more than a week without water.
In addition to keeping you alive by helping your bodily systems function (which is obviously the biggest perk of staying hydrated!), water can also help you achieve a healthy weight. But it’s not as simple as water in, weight off. Here’s what you need to know about how water may help with weight loss or maintenance.
What Does Science Say About Hydration and Weight Loss?
There is some scientific evidence supporting water as a tool for weight loss via a number of mechanisms. Dr. Do emphasizes that it is “not clear” that drinking water directly leads to weight loss, saying the two may be indirectly related.
Cynthia Sass, MPH, RDN, a board-certified specialist in sports dietetics based in Los Angeles, points out that water is just one piece of the weight loss puzzle, and she doesn’t recommend counting on it as a sole weight loss solution. “However, water is needed for every process in the body — including healthy circulation, digestion, and waste elimination — so drinking enough water benefits health in other ways,” she explains.
Water Consumption May Result in Less Food Consumption
One small study, published October 2018 in Clinical Nutrition Research, found that drinking water before meals helped naturally reduce calorie intake, which may in turn support healthy weight management. When subjects drank one and a quarter cups of water prior to a meal, they ate less compared with the groups who drank the same amount after a meal or drank nothing at all. This study involved only 15 participants, all of whom were between ages 20 and 30, so larger, more diverse studies are needed.
“In other words, drinking water before eating or with food may lead to reduction of food consumed and thus lead to weight loss,” Do explains. “Drinking water in the hour before eating a meal may allow time for hormonal signals of satiety to take effect and lead to less hunger at the time of eating.”
He also notes that increasing fiber intake before meals, or opting for multiple, smaller snacks throughout the day (rather than three larger meals) may have a similar effect.
Upping Water Intake May Help Speed Up Metabolism
A review of studies from June 2016, published in Frontiers in Nutrition, concluded that increasing water intake not only promoted weight loss via “decreased feeding,” but also helped speed metabolism by increased lipolysis (the breakdown of fats and other lipids by hydrolysis to release fatty acids).
“Research shows that water can help rev metabolism, and while the effect may be slight, it can snowball to create a greater impact over time,” adds Sass.
How Much Water Should You Drink to Lose Weight?
Do says there is no specific amount of water that’s recommended for weight loss, because the relationship between the two hasn’t been scientifically proven. But “to maintain hydration balance,” he suggests following recommendations from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine: 15.5 cups (3.7 liters or 124 ounces) for men and 11.5 cups (2.7 liters or 92 ounces) for women. This includes water and fluids from food, he says.
When Should You Drink Water to Lose Weight?
As for when you should drink water to maximize weight loss, prior to meals may help decrease your appetite and prevent overeating. And, because water can help with digestion, consider drinking some after a meal. In general, though, Sass recommends spreading your water intake throughout the day.
“Additionally, some drinks contain chemicals — such as caffeine — which stimulate urine production,” Do notes. In other words, they have an opposite, dehydrating effect. While you don’t need to switch to decaf for hydration purposes, he suggests trying to recognize when additional water intake should be considered — for example, in cases when you are exposed to hot weather or physical exertion — and make sure to rehydrate in response.
How Can You Boost Your Water Intake?
As with other healthy lifestyle behaviors, incorporating water breaks into your daily routine can help you stick to the practice, suggests Do. “This could mean linking water intake to current habits (for example, drinking a cup of water after brushing teeth in the evening) or setting up reminders to do so.”
Another approach may be to add water-containing foods to your diet. The Mayo Clinic points out that many fruits and vegetables have a high water content, and highlights watermelon and spinach as two foods that are nearly 100 percent water.
Sass suggests keeping a water bottle with you, and setting reminders on your device to prompt yourself to drink. You can also enlist the help of a smart water bottle, like HidrateSpark, which calculates how much water you need to drink and keeps track of your consumption.

Mdc Alliance Namibia is deeply concerned at the deteriorating situation in the country as the country gravitates towards a constitutional crisis, which is compounded by an already existing legitimacy crisis that flows from the disputed 2018 election.
The desperate Zanupf President illegally extended the term of office of Chief Justice beyond the age of seventy years(70) for an additional period of five (5) years.
He has further considered and accepted the medical report which he submitted as proof of his mental and physical fitness to continue in that office. The constitutional crisis finds expression in the recent move by Zanupf and their surrogates to tear apart the constitution that was agreed to after a nationwide referendum.
This latest repressive acts epitomise Zanupf’s desire to usurp the will of the people ,entrench and concentrate power in the hands of one person.
As a district, we call upon citizens, opposition parties, civic organizations, frustrated workers ,the women’s movements, youth organizations and all progressive forces to converge to resist this attempt to consolidate the capture of the already compromised Judiciary Service. The unconstitutional extension of Malaba’s term of office has faced wholesale criticism because of his dismissal of our petition which sought to annul the 2018 presidential elections result over alleged senseless rigging in favour of the autocratic Zanupf elections fraudsters.
Furthermore, Malaba had been due to retire on Saturday when he turns 70 but Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s ruining Zanupf party used its proxies MdcT to amend the people’s constitution , allowing the illegitimate president to extend the retirement age of senior judges to 75 years if they proved were in good health.
What astonishes Mdc Alliance Namibia is the level of unemployment in the country which is alarming, instead of focusing on creating employment for the unemployed youths, Zanupf wants to continue with the remote-controlled Judiciary Service Practitioners who always take instructions from Zanupf morons.
Lawyers and the Mdc Alliance say the amendment that allowed Malaba to continue in office and empowered Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to appoint judges of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts rather than go through public interviews was a violation of the country’s charter. They argue that under the constitution , Change to term limits require a referendum and that incumbents do not benefit from such changes. Regardless of these constitutional provisions, Zanupf proceeded to breach the supreme law of the country. All social democrats and civic organizations should gang up together and ensure that there are comprehensive political and electoral reforms before 2023 harmonised elections.
Moreover, some legal experts suppose that Zimbabwe could be heading towards a Constitutional Crisis. If the High court dismisses the challenge and the lawyers appeal , they will have to face the same judges they cited in their court challenge. It is clear that the satanic party intends to retain power through constitutional ruling like what they did when they stole our votes in 2018. This is just an escalation of totalitarianism, intensifying human rights abuses , arbitrary arrests including the persecution of our ardent leaders such as Hon Joana Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri, Netsai Marova, Youth Commander Obey ‘Luther’Sithole only to mention but a few.
In a nutshell, the illegal extension of Chief Justice Malaba’s term of office is an insult to Constitutional Democracy. Mdc Alliance Namibia urges every right- thinking citizens to peacefully pent up their outrage demanding Judiciary Independence in our courts. We must condemn weaponisation of the law by Zanupf as a of decimating the People’s Agenda through persecution by prosecution. Lawfare through Judiciary capture must be resisted with equal measure. Big Numbers Can’t Be Rigged- President Chamisa
Tinashe Sambiri| As the Citizens Convergence for Change Programme continues to gather momentum, MDC Alliance leader, President Nelson Chamisa has urged citizens to register to vote in numbers.
In a short and precise statement, President Chamisa said:”2023 play your part, register to vote, big numbers can’t be rigged.”
The Zanu PF Varakashi team is fighting tooth and nail to discourage citizens from participating in the 2023 polls.
The cornered and clueless regime is keen to frustrate voters under the pretext that elections are insignificant in Zimbabwe, according to political observers.
“The notion that elections will not change anything is a gimmick calculated to frustrate urban voters,” observed one political analyst.
“Voter apathy is their trump card. They know that they have the numbers in the rural areas so they want to keep urban voters at bay,” added the analyst.

Remembering Tonderai Ndira, Abducted And Killed By Zanu PF
When Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others
14-05-2021
Riotous machete wielding ZANU PF thugs whose running battles disturbed movement of people and traffic in the usually peaceful town of Chinhoyi were yesterday unleashed back to the public by a Chinhoyi magistrate.
The four hooligans, fronted by their godfather of violence Kindness Paradza(MP) were engaged in public violence at their party meeting held at Chinhoyi Public Service Training Centre last week.
Without dwelling much into the animalistic behavior of these ZANU PF societal misfits, it is important to focus our lenses on the kangaroo justice that is being served by our courts of law.
Juxtapose the handling of cases of MDC Alliance political activists with that of ZANU PF activists by the judiciary.
The selective application of law is quite shocking!
Our MDC Alliance Youth Assembly National Chairman, Obey Sithole who was arrested way before the Chinhoyi ZANU PF misfits is still battling to regain his freedom two weeks after his incarceration.
Sithole was denied bail at a magistrate court for a petty but malicious charge of ‘public nuisance’ yet ZANU PF activists who committed a serious offence of public violence are already free.
Then there is a classic case of Makomborero Haruzivishe who was convicted and sentenced to 14 months in prison for ‘inciting public violence’ by blowing a whistle.
Haruzivishe was not even granted an opportunity for bail but ZANU PF activists who were actually caught in the very act of public violence are already free.
We have a tilted justice system that make decisions based on political colours.
We now have ZANU PF politicians in judiciary robes!
Time for a political response to politicians sitting in our courts.

Tsvimbo Can’t Revive Economy- Advocate Mahere
Tinashe Sambiri|MDC Alliance spokesperson Advocate Fadzayi Mahere has taunted the rigid Zanu PF regime for concentrating on make-believe tales and “cartoonland stuff” instead of finding ways of reviving the economy.
Mahere was commenting on attempts by the Zanu PF regime to exhume former President Robert Gabriel Mugabe’s remains for reburial.
Political observers say the Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa is desperate to get hold of the royal sceptre believed to be in Mugabe’s grave.
Mahere challenged the regime to focus on productive issues…
“Other countries: Let’s innovate our way to prosperity. Employment creation, modern infrastructure, food security & citizen welfare must be our priorities. Let’s succeed.
Zim: Tsvimbo iripi?
We need new leaders,” Mahere wrote on Facebook.

Kill Me If I Fail To Deliver Results- New Bafana Bafana Coach

Chipinge RDC Top Official Threatens To Sue Journalist
By A Correspondent| A Chipinge Rural District Council top official has threatened to sue freelance journalist Tafadzwa Muranganwa for what he claimed defamation over a story the latter wrote.
The Chipinge RDC Social Service Officer Mr Microt Mudodo was irked by a story the freelance journalist wrote on Radio Voice of the People portal which revealed that the Chipinge Rural District Council is being accused of shutting out the interests of the Mutema Irrigation Scheme members in a contractual row with banana producer Matanuska.

The story cites that Mudodo wanted to make sure his alleged girlfriend Jennifer Dzambo be in the committee that want to renegotiate for a better working contract with Matanuska .
However, the alleged girlfriend lost in the elections and now they have called for a re-run of the elections on the basis that when the voting was done delegates did not constitute a quorum despite that other elections held in Taona and Manesa had fewer people.
Incensed by the expose, Mudodo phoned the journalist accusing him of what he called character- assassination.
Speaking to this publication, Tafadzwa Muranganwa said he had reached out to Mudodo seeking his comment on the allegations but he had not been forthcoming.
“I contacted Mudodo to get his side of the story and he was not reachable so that didn’t stop me from writing the article.
“The problem with public officials they think by withholding their comments they can kill a story but apparently we are now pushing community journalism where the voice of the community matters most,” he said.
The journalist revealed that Mudodo was irate saying that the story lacked basic tenets of journalism and would press defamation charges if he is willing to stand in court.
“He told me that I did not make effort to hear his side of the story which is a lie because I took almost a week waiting for his response and he also said if he is to press defamation charges can I be able to stand with my story,” added Muranganwa.
“After consultation with my sources , I have realised the story remains truthful and now have confidence to defend it.
“In my story I mentioned that plans were underway for a re-run of the elections for Mutema and it has now been confirmed by Ward 3 Councillor Rhoda Simango who said they were yet to be notified about the date,”revealed the journalist.
Recently ,a journalist with NewZimbabwe.com, James Muonwa was harassed by deputy information minister Kindness Paradza, a former journalist, for writing what he claimed negative reporting on him.

JUST IN: Byo Land Developer Arrested For Duping 120 Land Seekers
By John Makamure| The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a land developing company for duping 120 land seekers of more than USD$160 000 by developing two pieces of stateland in Zvishavane and Shurugwi without approved engineering designs by the respective local authorities.
The company faces 120 counts
Accused is RM Construction Private Limited, a land developing company being represented by one of its two directors, Martin Willie Muzeza (40) of Bulawayo who has since appeared in court.
It is alleged that during the period between 17 August 2011 to 2015, RM Construction Private Limited was allocated 1 200 stands to service at Mabhula Phase 2, Zvishavane and another 1 000 stands at Magakooshla, Shurugwi by the office of the former Midlands Province Governor, Jaison Machaya.
All the stands were on Stateland.
RM Construction embarked on the two projects by opening up roads and excavating water trenches at the Mabhula project, and opening up roads and laying of water pipes at the Magakooshla project, without approved engineering designs by the respective local authorities as per requirement. That was for the purpose of luring home-seekers to come and buy residential stands.
From 2014 to 2016, one hundred and twenty (120) home-seekers got lured and bought stands after being assured that the work the accused company was doing was above board and that they would be allowed to start constructing their houses immediately after paying for the stands.
When the complainants started raising concerns due to lack of progress at the two projects seven [7] years on to date, with some demanding their money back, the accused closed its Gweru offices without notifying the complainants and became evasive.
In the other charges, RM Construction is accused of embarking on the project by opening up roads and laying water reticulation pipes for both the Shurugwi and Zvishavane projects before it was issued with an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Licence by the Environmental Management Agency as per requirement.
At the Magakooshla project in Shurugwi, RM Construction also cleared a gum plantation for their housing project.
The case was remanded to 11 June 2021 without bail conditions when one of the directors Willie Martin Muzeza appeared before Gweru magistrate Mr Marecha at the Gweru Magistrates Court. Mr R Musvaire prosecuted.
Zim Sitting On 17 Rare Earth Elements
By A Correspondent- Lithium miner Prospect Resources says preliminary results undertaken from a soil sampling process focusing on rare earth elements (REEs) recently at Chishanya in the southeast of Zimbabwe, are encouraging.
Zimbabwe is reportedly sitting on 17 REEs, namely cerium, dysprosium, erbium, europium, gadolinium, holmium, lanthanum, lutetium, neodymium, praseodymium, promethium, samarium, scandium, terbium, thulium, ytterbium, and yttrium.
REEs are now widely used in automobiles, electronic equipment, military technology and other fields.
Although Zimbabwe has not carried out a comprehensive mineral survey, President Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2019 revealed that the country’s REEs are the second largest in the world after China’s.
In its report on activities undertaken in the March 2021 quarter and its financial position at the end of the period, the Australian stock Exchange-listed miner said in line with its strategy, it continues to seek opportunities to generate value out of its non-core assets.
“During the quarter, the company undertook soil sampling at the Chishanya Rare Earth Project to provide an initial assessment of this project prospectively. Approximately 2 400 samples were collected and sieved, prior to being dispatched for REE analysis by sGs. Preliminary results are encouraging, and the company will provide an update in due course,” the report reads.
Prospect said the Chishanya phosphate project is one of five known phosphatebearing carbonatites in Zimbabwe.
The deposit has been explored by a number of companies since the 1950s including Anglo American and Rhodesia Chrome Mines Ltd. The deposit is a series of un-exploited phosphate-bearing, apatite-magnetite lenses in carbonatite located near Birchenough Bridge, Manicaland. The project will be located at Dorowa near Buhera.
Prospect finished the quarter with a cash balance as at March 31, 2021 of A$4,2 million(approx.Us$3,2m). subsequent to quarter end, the company completed a successful capital raise of A$6,5 million (Us$5 million).
In addition, Prospect has a US$10 million funding commitment from offtake partner sinomine, which is triggered when the ball mill has been delivered and bolt installed.
Prospect managing director sam Hosack, commented: “We are pleased to say that the March 2021 quarter, along with the beginning of the current quarter, has been a period of substantial progress for Prospect.”
“We now have a clear, staged and lower risk pathway to progress the Arcadia Lithium Project towards development, construction and targeted high margin lithium production. We have also strengthened our board and executive ranks with individuals of the calibre and experience to assist Prospect in successfully making this transition,” he said.
BRITISH GOVT PLANS INTERNATIONAL HUNTING BAN AS ZIMBABWE REVEALS IMPRESSIVE BENEFITS
Johannesburg, 13 May 2021
By Emmanuel Koro- In her 11 May 2021 speech that included a proposed Bill to ban international hunting trophy imports,
Queen Elizabeth II gave the first strongest hint that the British Government and animal rights groups are worlds apart; with the international hunting needs of wildlife-rich African countries such as Zimbabwe.
African countries and communities co-existing with wildlife don’t ever want hunting to be banned because it generates revenue for not only wildlife conservation but also habitat conservation.
Sadly, the British Government as indicated by the Queen’s speech this week seems not to acknowledge such benefits. Some of the benefits from hunting income include its use for the socio-economic wellbeing of African rural communities co-existing with wildlife. Therefore, the British are planning to go ahead with plans that will not only destroy African wildlife but also its habitat and the hopes of socio-economic development in African communities co-existing with wildlife.
The Queen’s Speech pointed out that, “Imports of hunting trophies will be banned and the government will implement the Ivory Act, banning the dealing in ivory.”
What they didn’t disclose is that such bans would harm African trophy hunting exports as the United Kingdom is one of the lucrative markets for Africa’s trophy hunting exports.
The closure of the United Kingdom trophy hunting exports market would be a double-blow for wildlife-rich African countries. They have and continue to pin their hopes to raise wildlife and habitat conservation revenue from international hunting, including international trade in ivory.
Meanwhile, wildlife producer and hunting communities from Southern Africa say that the British Government’s proposal to introduce an international hunting trophy imports ban “might cause more harm to African wildlife and people than did its colonial control and looting of the African continent.”
They argue that British Government’s attempt to ban trophy hunting imports ignores the wildlife and habitat as well as socio-economic benefits that international hunting is bringing to Africa.
From Zimbabwe, one of the most economically challenged countries in the world at the moment comes a successful hunting benefits story that might make the British decide not to ban hunting if they really love to conserve African wildlife and its habitat. Additionally, if they really care for vulnerable African wildlife producer communities’ wellbeing.
This week, Zimbabwean conservationist, Ishmael Chahukura who is outspoken on the need to defend hunting in Africa said that he was disappointed to learn from Queen Elizabeth II’s 11 May 2021 speech that the British Government was going ahead with its plans to ban hunting trophy imports.
If ever there was a quiz: ‘What makes an African hunting community representative feel the need to engage in a debate with the British Government and Queen Elizabeth II?’ The answer would be: ‘To stop them from banning trophy hunting imports.’
In a touching interview that made Ishmael Chahukura feel compelled to appeal to the British Government to rethink their damaging plan to ban all international trophy hunting imports, he said, “Those who insist on banning hunting don’t care about wildlife and habitat conservation in Africa, including Zimbabwe.”
He blamed the Western animal rights groups for continuing to mislead the British Government to pursue an international trophy hunting imports ban Bill that will cause a wildlife and habitat conservation disaster on the African continent.
The UN agency wild trade regulating agency CITES permits to trade in all endangered species, for non-commercial purposes, including trophy hunting exports, as long as the off-take that normally ranges from 0.5-1%; is not harmful to the local population. Therefore, many people are wondering why the British Government is a member of CITES trying to stop trophy hunting imports that are well-regulated and permitted by CITES.
“The animal rights groups must know that the Africans are genuinely concerned about wildlife as well as habitat conservation,” said Mr Chahukura. “If they ban trophy hunting imports then they are banning conservation in Africa. Communities are conserving wildlife because they know they benefit from it. If they don’t benefit from it, then there is no reason to live with wildlife in Africa, including Zimbabwe. That will be the end of wildlife conservation in Africa.”
For Mr Chahukura, perhaps the most effective way to make the British Government appreciate the hunting benefits is to outline some of the most impressive benefits that Zimbabwe’s wildlife-rich hunting communities have and continue to receive from international hunting.
“Some of the most impressive socio-economic developments that were made possible with funding from hunting in our country Zimbabwe, include the schools and roads that linked to the rest of the world; most hunting communities that previously had no roads,” he said. “Before the hunting revenue funded schools were built, only a few young boys had access to primary and secondary education. The girls were disadvantaged because they could not travel long distances to the nearest school and clinic.”
Many people worldwide might not know that hunting revenue can also remove social ills in wildlife producer communities as revealed by Mr Chahukura of Zimbabwe.
“Before we started earning hunting revenue, we couldn’t build schools and also girls could not attend distant schools,” he said. “This created major social ills for the girl-child, including early marriages and unwanted pregnancies. The level of illiteracy among girls was extremely high.
Fortunately, hunting removed all these social ills in 1988 when primary schools were built using revenue from international hunting, giving boys and girls equal access to education. Secondary schools were later built in wildlife producer communities, using hunting income. The more years girls spent studying, the less the early marriages and there was a drastic reduction in unwanted pregnancies.”
“Come visit some Zimbabwe hunting communities, today and you shall discover that the hunting revenue-built schools have collectively produced university graduates, including medical doctors, engineers, accountants, teachers and nurses,” said Mr Chahukura.
He said that the most stunning hunting benefits story that the world should know today was that revenue from a hunted lion, elephant, leopard, kudu or buffalo “can produce university graduates who can be traced to other Zimbabwean wildlife producer and hunting communities.”
Notably, some of these professionals have been ‘poached’ to work in Western countries that are ironically opposing international hunting.
The Chairman of Zimbabwe Painted Hunting Dog Conservation and former Deputy Board Chairman of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, Mr Jerry Gotora said, “There are many of them [professionals educated in Zimbabwe’s hunting communities]. I met one of them in Hong Kong, about 10 years ago. He is a top Hongkong banker, from Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe. His name is Jasom Watson. He is highly educated. He has also worked in Australia.”
In these Zimbabwean hunting communities, it is such untold socio-economic benefits from hunting that show the interdependence of humankind and nature; that have made most people value the need to protect wildlife against poachers. The benefits have also made them appreciate the need to protect wildlife habitat by stopping timber poaching and all forms of environmental degradation.
“We use 60% of the international hunting revenue for wildlife and habitat conservation programmes,” said Chahukura. “This is used to pay for local game scouts, purchasing anti-poaching equipment and paying their wages.”
Unfortunately, by introducing a trophy hunting imports ban the British Government is unknowingly going to remove the impressive wildlife and habitat conservation efforts that hunting revenue continues to support in Africa, including wildlife-rich Zimbabwe.
The downside of banning hunting would be a wildlife and habitat conservation disaster. Why? Hunting communities throughout Africa are increasingly saying their last land-use option if hunting is banned would be to convert national parks as well as game reserves into crop fields.
South Africa’s Makuya Hunting Community representative, Mr Wilson Nemadzhilili does not want animal rights groups to stop his Community from international hunting or to close their international hunting markets, including the United Kingdom. He together with people in his community argue that it’s wrong to talk about animal rights without also talking about human rights.
“If animal rights groups want to stop us from hunting, then they must know that they are not welcome to the Southern African Development Community (SADC),” he said.
Emmanuel Koro is a Johannesburg-based international award-winning independent environmental journalist who writes in his own capacity. He has written several articles on environment and development issues in Africa.

“Grieving Without Illusions”

By Leo Igwe- How does one grieve if the person does not subscribe to any religion or a belief in a God? How does one make meaningful sense of the tragic loss of a relative without pandering to ancient myths and misconceptions?
Simply put, how does one thoughtfully come to terms with the pain and sorrow of losing a loved one without clutching some supernatural and superstitious mumbo jumbo? These questions have agitated my mind for some time. The agitation has become intense following the death of my father.
Growing up in an intensely religious environment, I grappled with these propositions because I knew that one day I would come face to face with grief and bereavement. Until the passing away of my father in April, questions about death and bereavement have been more of an academic exercise. But now they are no longer so.
Death has hit so hard, and so close. Right now, I am mourning. I am grieving in a way that has never been the case. I introspect, and reflect on death and dying. In the event of death, many people use religious and supernatural narratives to make sense of their grief or to console the bereaved.
Some point to comforting myths and superstitions codified in scriptures and traditions to provide emotional support to those who mourn. Some years ago, while on a condolence visit, a Christian friend noted that religion -as opposed to non-religious outlooks- was richer in consoling and comforting those who are mourning.
After the bereaved murmured some prayers in honor of the dead, he turned to me and said “That is why it is good to be religious”. I kept wondering about the substantial difference, if any, that those intercessory lines made on the fact of death and bereavement.
The religious way of grieving is predicated on the premise that the dead are in a better place; the dead have gone to heaven or paradise where is no suffering or pain. Religions teach people to believe that the dead are not dead; that the dead have transited into another realm of eternal bliss where they would live and rejoice forever.
People of faith claim to draw strength from these propositions. People of faith console the bereaved or try and make them draw strength from these misconceptions. They tell us that people who die depart this world for another world; the dead leave the here-and-now for the hereafter, this life for another life- the afterlife. Is that the case?
Meanwhile, there is no evidence at all to substantiate these extraordinary claims. As a mourning habit, people of faith deploy these suppositions to make sense of grief. But they never asked: are these narratives consoling? Or better, are these propositions not empty words, or mere condolence formalities that signify nothing? I am not interested if or whether a proposition is comforting or consoling.
Grieving is a subjective experience. Those who are experiencing shock and trauma can temporarily be relieved even by a statement that is a lie. I am not interested in whether claims bring some relief to people who are mourning. That may be so, why not? I am particularly interested in what is true; what is based on facts, not fiction.
Of course, I am not opposed to using fictive claims in everyday interactions. Fiction must be treated as fiction. Fantasies should not be presented as facts in the name of consoling those who are grieving. People who grieve or mourn are not stupid or dumb. Are they?
Mourners are mentally alert and intellectually alive. That people are grieving does not mean that they suspend their sense of reasoning or rational judgment. Those who are grieving do not disable their faculty of understanding and appreciation of what is true or false, reasonable or unreasonable, credible or incredible.
Mourners should not be lied to as a traditional or institutionalized way to support them. I do not see the purpose that the superstition-filled grieving process serves.
I am not consoled by claims about death and the dead that (I think) are false. Many believing folks that I know are unpersuaded by those absurd and baseless declarations that the religious-minded make at funerals.
Some consider those religious rituals and ceremonies to be unnecessary encumbrances on the mourning experience. Some regard them as a form of entertainment and temporary distraction from the painful reality of death.
I find those mistaken assumptions about death and the dead unhelpful. I deem it immoral to lie to those who are grieving or to peddle falsehoods about the dead. It is said that one should not talk ill about the dead. Right? So one should not say what is blatantly untrue, or what is not based on fact about the dead or dying in the name of mourning.
Why should people lie to one’s face or lie to the face of the dead because one is mourning or grieving? Some would say: “But these are narratives to help those who are grieving cope with a tragic situation and achieve closure”.
That is understood. But my question is: Why not use propositions that are informed by facts and sound reasoning? Why not deploy consoling lines based on evidence? For instance, in times of grief, people of faith console those grieving by saying that the dead have gone to rest somewhere, in heaven.
They tell those who are mourning that they would meet their dead friends and relatives again where they would part no more. Really? Many, who make these declarations to support those who are grieving, know that this meeting in the afterlife is highly improbable or would never happen.
But they still urge mourners to look forward to this imaginary Rendez-Vous. Believing folks claim that these suppositions provide relief and consolation to the bereaved. Do they?
In my case, my father is dead. He is no more. That is the fact. That is reality. His body will decompose and supply nutrients to other life forms. My father came from nature, and to mother nature, he has returned. We all who are alive will go the same way at some point. I do not intend to meet my father or any other dead friend or relative any time anywhere again. No, no. I do not nurse such aspirations.
My father lives on, not in any extraterrestrial heavenly realm. He lives on in my memory and in the memories of those who knew him. He lives in the minds of family members, former students and colleagues, and others who met and encountered him while he was alive.
My father lives on in the genes that he passed on to his children, and in so many ways that he impacted my and other lives. I draw strength from fond memories of him, memories of the good and bad times that we shared, memories of our agreements and disagreements, memories of his trials and tribulations, successes and failures, perfections and imperfections.
As I grieve, I am comforted by these thoughts and reminiscences. They provide me with more meaningful ways of coming to terms with his demise than the comforting myths that religions and other supernatural enterprises peddle.
Death is one of the reasons why religion exists and holds sway over the minds of many across the world. Religion helps many persons to grieve and mourn the dead. Religion enables some people to make sense of their mortality. But as a humanist, the religious idea of life, death, and mortality does not hold.
Its transcendental pretensions have little or no appeal. The humanist way of mourning offers an enriching alternative. One grieves without illusions, and superstitions about death and the afterlife in a fictive otherworldly realm.
Tsvimbo Yakapiwa Kasukuwere, Says Zivhu.
By A Correspondent| Motor mouth politician Killer Zivhu has waded into the controversial issue of the late President Robert Mugabe’s stick, claiming that it was given to former G40 member Savior Kasukuwere.
Posting on Twitter Friday morning, the former Zanu PF legislator for Chivi said the stick is in the hands of Kasukuwere who was the chosen one.
“Tsvimbo yakapiwa Cde Kasukuwere ndaivapo musi wacho chinhu chinokosha ichocho there is power on it for sure. Chamisa aingova mashoko chete mudhara atsamwa nezvaakaitwa.
“But tsvimbo yaishandiswa nomukuru ina Cde Kasukuwere. He was the chosen one zvokuti inoshandeyi handizivi zvangu,” said Zivhu.
Mugabe’s nephew Patrick Zhuwao stirred controversy when he claimed that President Emmerson Mnangagwa was behind the push for the former ruler’s reburial as he wants a sprectre believed to have been buried with him.
Zivhu is no stranger to controversy as his comments on topical political issues in the country always receive heavy rebuke from social media users.
He was expelled from Zanu PF for pushing dialogue between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa.

Mines Ministry Top Directors Suspended Over Bribery Storm
By A Correspondent- The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development last week suspended two of its top directors on allegations they tried to solicit bribes from South African potential investors, Lephalele Mining.
The ministry’s chief director Mercy Manyuchi, together with the director of the Zimbabwe Geological Survey Forbes Mugumbate, had been fingered in the scam and suspended, but Manyuchi was later exonerated by the CIO, which carried out the investigation, according to a document seen by this newspaper.
They were accused of soliciting bribes from the South African investors led by Lephalele chairperson Cliff Motsepe and chief operating officer Mashile Mokono in a meeting held on March 29, according to the document signed by a top CIO official.
Manyuchi was cleared last Friday after a letter from the CIO indicated her involvement was subject to an investigative error stemming from a mix-up of names and use of an old telephone directory.
Public service commission chair Vincent Hungwe wrote to Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga on May 11, 2021 lifting the suspension against Manyuchi.
The suspected culprits now stand accused of economic sabotage of the “Zimbabwe is open for business mantra”.
In a letter seen by the Zimbabwe Independent, the CIO then clarified the list of suspects.
“On 21 April 2021, our staff telephoned the MMMD [Ministry of Mines and Mining Development] reception to obtain the name of the director for research, value-addition and beneficiation and they were erroneously informed that it was Dr Mercy Manyuchi. This also happened to tally with the name in the Zimbabwe Government confidential telephone list (the ‘Green Book’). We have since found that she was not present in the meeting and is in fact now the chief director mining development,” read part of the letter which was addressed to Mines and Mining Development minister Winston Chitando and copied to ministry’s permanent secre- tary, Onesimo Moyo.
The meeting in question, according to the letter was attended by the director of nonenergy minerals Nelson Munyanduri, who chaired it and Tichaona Makuza, who is the director of research, value-addition and beneficiation.
The Public Service Commission will now drag Makuza and Mugumbate for a disciplinary hearing.
The mining sector and law enforcement agents have specifically come under spotlight, amid allegations of unprocedural issuance of permits and cases of huge amounts of gold being smuggled through ports, including the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.
Early this week Tashinga Nyasha Masinire (33), was found in possession of 23 pieces of gold worth R11m, which was suspected to have been smuggled through the country’s biggest airport.
Last year Zimbabwe Miners Federation president Henrietta Rushwaya was arrested at the same port with 6kg of gold worth US$366 destined for Dubai.
In an exclusive interview with Zimbabwe Independent last week, Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) chairperson Justice Loyce Matanda-Moyo singled out the Mines ministry as one of the corruption hotspots, mainly due to the handling of mining claims and grants by senior officials.
She said this had been exposed by an investigative report produced by experts at Zacc.
Information at hand suggests the Lephalele directors who were present at the meeting raised alarm with authorities, leading to investigations under CIO directorgeneral Isaac Moyo.
Attempts to get further information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the prospective investors were fruitless at the time of going to print.
Chitando had not responded to questions since last week.
The CIO director-general could also not be reached to give an update on the matter, as his mobile phone went unanswered.
Prior to his appointment to head the President’s department in 2017, Moyo was Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to neighboring South Africa where the investors came from.
Officials at Zacc said they were unaware of such reports, requesting further infor- mation.
They were unable to give an official comment at the time of going to print, but they indicated the Ministry of Mines was considered, atthecommission, tobeamong the corruption hotspots.
Corruption has been cited as among the country’s major stumbling blocks to attractinginvestment.

Mnangagwa Top Ally Evicts Victoria Falls Town Clerk From Council Accommodation
By A Correspondent- Local government Minister, July Moyo has evicted the Victoria Falls Town Clerk, Ronnie Dube, from his council residence.
Minister Moyo this week flew to the resort town and evicted the council official.
Dube was recently suspended without pay and benefits on allegations of “corruption, gross incompetence, abuse of office and causing the local authority to lose revenue”.
Dube, who started his second five-year term last October, appeared before magistrate Gladmore Mushowe early this month charged with criminal abuse of duty as a public officer.
.
Allegations made by the state and the Special Anti-Corruption Unit are that Dube forced the council in 2017 to sell a commercial stand to a local tour operator, Shearwater Adventures without following procedures in terms of tender processes.
It is alleged that he engaged Backstone Properties to evaluate the land and a report from the valuator containing the price was availed on February 11, where he reported to the council that there was a buyer for the land.
Prosecutors allege Dube misrepresented during a Victoria Falls full council meeting that only Shearwater Adventures wanted commercial stand number 1782 yet other companies had also expressed interest, including Wild Horizons.
Council resolved to sell the stand to Shearwater Adventures without following tender procedures outlined in a council resolution passed on April 1, 2014, which required that commercial stands be sold on a tender.
Prosecutors allege Dube, in the exercise of his duties or function intentionally influenced the council through his report to sell the commercial stand which was contrary or inconsistent with his duty as a public officer.
Mugabe Nephews Fume Over Attempts To Re-Bury The Late Former Leader
By A Correspondent- The late former President Robert Mugabe’s eldest nephew and family spokesperson Leo Mugabe, has rubbished attempts by Zvimba chieftainship to rebury the late former feared ruler.
“No one will force us to change even if they come up with many court cases. They can go to hell,” Mugabe said.
“Our position as a family is that we will not entertain this issue. We buried Mugabe and that’s all. This person who is complaining is not part of the family and we don’t know why he is doing that.
“We don’t know why the chief is summoning Grace on his charge sheet. Grace is not a Mugabe, she is an in-law in the family and the decision to bury him was a Mugabe family decision,” he said.
He vowed that no one would attend the court session and he cared less about a “default judgment”.
“In any case, what will happen even if the complainant wins the case? It is an exercise in futility because as far as we are concerned, we are done and nobody can force us and we cannot say he was buried in a house when we all know he was buried in a courtyard.”
“Had we gone to the National Heroes Acre he was going to be buried in a proper room they call a mausoleum and was the chief going to summon President (Emmerson) Mnangagwa over that?”

You Can Kill Me If We Don’t Qualify For AFCON 2023 -SA Soccer Coach
Recently-recruited South Africa national team coach Hugo Broos has promised the country’s ever-demanding faithful that he will lead his charges to AFCON 2023, saying they can kill him if he fails to do so.

Businessman Accused Of Raping Own Daughter Since 2017, Saved By DNA Doubts
The businessman accused of raping his daughter four times since 2017 was on Wednesday acquitted after the court found that DNA evidence could have been tampered with while other evidence was said to be unsafe for conviction.
On the DNA evidence, Harare regional magistrate Mrs Gloria Takundwa said the substance on tissue paper and believed to be the businessman’s semen should have been taken for forensic tests by the police not the mother of the girl.
“Such exhibits must have been recovered by police and handed by them to IAB laboratories for test. In the case there was risk of tampering as the samples were taken to the police after the complaint was made.
There was also the problem over how the allegations were reported to the police, especially the time and incidents that unfolded before a complaint of sexual assault was raised.
“It was delayed and the complainant was expected to inform her mother or teacher. She knew that was to be made at first opportunity. She went to her mother several times but she did not use such opportunities.
“She had to wait until a friend sent a message and then she was quizzed by her mother and not voluntarily make the complaint.
“There was an opportunity to make the report to her teacher when she attempted to commit suicide because of the sexual abuses. The rape complaint did not meet the admissibility required. It is a fact that when the complaint was made she has to be quizzed over messages send by a friend. It is not safe to convict the accused under such circumstances,” she said.
During trial, the businessman denied the allegations saying they were cooked up by his wife in a bid to extort money from him. He alleged that his wife wanted money, residential stands and cars from his assets.
The businessman, who was being represented by lawyer Mr Gwinyai Shumba, had also questioned the DNA results and said it had failed to link him to the offence.
He argued that the test did not mention that it was his semen. -Herald
Robert Mugabe To Be Exhumed As Grace Gives Up?

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | After seriously looking at the summons chief Zvimba issued on Grace Mugabe the former First Lady one is left wondering does chief Zvimba understand his duties? Zvimba is a district of Mashonaland West Province, Zimbabwe.
The Zvimba (Rozvi, Shona) people are the descendants of the original leader of the Zimba (or Zvimba) people who were led to the Zambezi River Valley area that is now part of Zimbabwe. In Zvimba tradition only a direct descendant of their founding leader after their arrival in that area of Africa is qualified to become chief. So we assume that the current chief Zvimba is indeed the son of Zimba. The chiefs have functions and they derive their power from the constitution and they are empowered by the law to be so.
The main functions of chiefs include dispute -settlement, codification of customary law, arrangement of ceremonies and festivals, organisation of communal labour and promotion of socioeconomic development. Chiefs have been involved in the development of their areas since pre-colonial times.
It is therefore expected that a chief is the authority on tradition and custom.
Traditional leaders in Zimbabwe play many roles in their communities. They help to promote and uphold cultural values, facilitate development and resolving of disputes in their communities. The institution of traditional leadership is regulated and monitored within the parameters of the Constitution. Since the passing of the Traditional Leaders Act in Zimbabwe in 1998, the state’s recognition and incorporation of traditional leadership in governance has increased considerably. This has coincided with the emerging political and economic crisis in the country, with traditional leaders being increasingly empowered as actors in local governance alongside locally elected democratic governments.
So looking at the reasoning of Chief Zvimba one is left wondering at the leader’s wisdom or lack of it.
Firstly the chief charges Grace Mugabe for taking the body of the former President Robert Mugabe to bury him in the house.
This charge raises legal issues. In a traditional set up, a human being is buried by his relatives and not his wife.
The charge becomes defective and the chief missed the point. Grace can not be charged with burying Robert Mugabe. Grace is a stranger in the Mugabe family. She is a daughter in law.
The chief was supposed to summon the whole Mugabe family if there was any errors or wrong doings during the funeral. You do not charge the wife of the deceased you can only deal with the male family members before you call the wife.
Since the wife is not from the Zvimba Clan she does not know their culture and custom. She can not be answerable to the chief while her husbands are available.
In the Zvimba culture a wife is married into the family and she is ceremonially the wife of the Mugabes. So any wrong doing in following the cultures of the Mugabe’s should be answered by the Mugabe people and not by Muroora the daughter in law.
Again the chief erred in failing to consider common law. A wife can have a say in where the husband could be buried but she does not lead the process. Burial is business of the close relatives. They guide the process and thus if the wife overrides the relatives it is the relatives who will face the chief or any traditional leader.
The other issue to consider is where was the chief when this taboo was done on his land. Did he have to wait for this long to correct a mistake.
The chief again raised an issue of distribution of the deceased bonging’s. The question the chief should answer is how does he know that the clothes of the deceased have not been distributed. The clothes distribution is not an issue for the king to raise. It’s a mater for the headman.
Now the important issue is that the complainant is not a relative of the deceased. So How did he get involved in a family matter.
The excitement the chief is exhibiting in this case stinks.
The chief is expected to be fair in his presiding over cases.
Chief Zvimba did not give Grace Mugabe any chance to answer those charges. He already prescribe the sentence. This means Mugabe’s widow has been tried and convicted before she attends the hearing.
The chief did not ask Grace whose wish was it to have Mugabe buried where he was buried. How does the chief pin this on a grieving widow. This is undue process.
There was enough time to talk about this before Mugabe was buried. The king did not engage Grace Mugabe to stop the funeral but he let the process commence. This was inefficiency and negligence on the part of the chief.
The chief must put into consideration that the process of exhumation is long and not led by the wife. There has to be a team from the health and local government the police and many stake holders. It is therefore an unlawful order which enforces a person to break the laws.
In every family male family members are the ones who take a leading role on who should be buried where and how. This is not the duty of the widow. The widow is actually led and told what to do by the relatives. The chief must be impartial and just he must give a treatment or behaviour without favouritism or discrimination. In this case the chief is has shown bias and unreasonableness in his duty.
After what Mugabe has done for the country we as a nation should be ashamed and embarrassed for such a treatment on the widow of your hero.
Those in power now should remember that the way the widows of heroes are treated will be the same their widows will be treated. This harassment of Grace Mugabe should stop forthwith.
The way we are treating Mugabe even in death is appalling. This chief must take a step back and consider what he is doing. The name of the chiefs must be held in respect.
The whole charge sheet or summons by Chief Zvimba resembles a dog’s breakfast. The chief is being abusive vindictive and indeed being petty. – [email protected]

Healthy food sometimes seems prohibitively expensive, but it doesn’t need to be. Case in point: legumes, the family of foods that encompasses beans, peas, and lentils, according to the Mayo Clinic.
While legumes are a nutritional powerhouse, that’s not all they have going for them — they’re also inexpensive, easy to find in stores, and versatile enough to work in a wide variety of dishes.
“They provide nourishment in a form that is inexpensive, highly storable, and delicious,” says Laura Poe, RDN, who is in private practice in Viroqua, Wisconsin. “They’re an affordable way to ‘stretch’ a meal, adding nutrition and bulk for very little cost.”
Legumes in their many forms should definitely be on your radar if you’re trying to cut down on your meat intake.
Beans and lentils are staples in plant-based diets thanks to their nutritional profile. “[Legumes] can make a superb high-protein substitute for meat in almost every dish,” says Shannon Henry, RDN, a registered dietitian with EZCareClinic in San Francisco. “Their refined and cooked texture means that they can fit perfectly into balls and patties. You can also use them in soups, casseroles, burgers, chili, and tacos.”
What Are Legumes?
Legumes belong to the Fabaceae or Leguminosae family. According to Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the terms “legumes,” “pulses,” and “beans” are sometimes used interchangeably, but legumes technically refer to the entire plant (including the leaves, stems, and pods) while a pulse is the edible seed (such as beans, peas, or lentils).
Examples of legumes include:
Adzuki beans (aka red beans)
Anasazi beans
Black-eyed peas
Edamame
Fava beans
Garbanzo beans (aka chickpeas)
Lentils
Soy nuts
Peanuts are also technically a legume, according to Food Insight.
Legumes are a staple food in Mediterranean diets. People who live in Mediterranean countries consumed between 8 and 23 grams (g) of legumes per day, while Northern Europeans consumed less than 5 g a day, according to one study.

Promote a Healthy Heart
It’s a good idea to limit your intake of red meat (like beef, lamb, and pork) because of the saturated fat content, according to the American Heart Association (AHA).right up arrow Lentils and beans are great substitutes — not only to help you reduce your meat intake, but to tap into some heart-healthy benefits. According to past research, eating legumes can lower blood pressure and inflammation, which are two risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
May Lower the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
Legumes may also aid in preventing and managing serious health conditions, including type 2 diabetes and related conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol, according to past research.
A study published in March 2017 in Clinical Nutrition found that regular consumption of legumes — especially lentils — as part of a Mediterranean diet led to a 35 percent lower risk of diabetes among older adults with a high cardiovascular risk. Those researchers found that substituting legumes for half a serving a day of eggs, bread, rice, and baked potato also helped lower type 2 diabetes risk.
Offer a Plant-Based Protein
Legumes are a great meat-free protein source and can take the place of meat in many recipes, Henry says. Following a predominantly plant-based diet — such as a vegetarian diet, a vegan diet, or a flexitarian diet — over a meat-heavy one may help lower your risk of heart disease, stroke, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and many cancers, according to the AHA. Man Killed Over Cigarette Stub
A 26-YEAR-OLD Kwekwe man succumbed to injuries he sustained fighting a 16-year-old boy over a cigarette stub.
Rueben Mukwaturi died following a fight with the teenager over a cigarette which the latter had thrown onto the ground.
Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident which occurred in Mbizo suburb in Kwekwe on Sunday around 4PM.
“Rueben Mukwaturi, the now deceased, met the suspect who was smoking a cigarette. The suspect dropped the stub of the cigarette on the ground. A misunderstanding ensued between the two after Mukwaturi ordered the suspect to pick up his cigarette stub from the ground,” said Insp Mahoko.
He said Mukwaturi then snatched a packet of snacks from the suspect.
“The suspect struck Mukwaturi with stones and ran away. Mukwaturi pursued the suspect and another fight ensued leading to Mukwaturi being overpowered by the suspect. Mukwaturi subsequently proceeded home where his condition deteriorated. He was escorted to the police where he reported the matter. He was referred to Kwekwe General Hospital where he died upon admission,” said Insp Mahoko.
The matter, he said, was reported to police who attended the scene and the body of the deceased was taken to Kwekwe District Hospital for post mortem.
“The suspect was arrested and awaits the due justice process,” said Insp Mahoko.
He appealed to members of the public to shun violence in all its forms.
“May society at household level, our community leaders –village heads, chiefs and church leaders help in spreading the message against violence. There is a serious concern over the rate at which lives are being lost through the crime of murder. Most of the murder cases are happening after minor differences which it is felt can be solved easily through dialogue,” said Insp Mahoko.- Chronicle

Dozens Of Malawi Citizens Nabbed At Beitbridge Border Post
By A Correspondent-The Department of Immigration’s Compliance and Enforcement Unit this morning intercepted 25 Malawian border jumpers who were travelling to South Africa.
A source within the department said this was part of the clampdown on border jumping and smuggling along the boundary with South Africa.
Among those arrested, 16 had passports that were not stamped at any immigration office, while the rest were undocumented persons.
The immigrants were reportedly travelling in an intercity bus after skipping the border into Zimbabwe via Nyamapanda.
The Acting Regional Immigration Officer in charge of Beitbridge Mr Trustworth Manatsire said the Malawians were apprehended at a local service station at around 4AM.
“We have since handed the group to the police pending further investigations and prosecution.
As a department, we want to warn syndicates involved in this human smuggling activity that they will face the full wrath of the law. We are not relenting,” said Mr Manatsire.
Border Authorities have since the beginning of the Covid-19 induced lockdown been clamping down on the illegal movement of people across the port of entry to minimize the spread of the virus.
In the last two months, over 100 Malawians were intercepted either skipping the border into Zimbabwe from South Africa or vice versa.

Mnangagwa Distances Self From Mugabe Re-Burial Attempt Saga
By A Correspondent- The Government has distanced itself from Mugabe influencing the Zvimba chieftainship to force for the reburial of the former President Robert Mugabe.
Information permanent secretary Ndavaningi Mangwana took to micro-blogging site Twitter to say: “Whatever it is, leave us alone.”
A Mugabe family friend, who is also an opposition National Patriotic Front spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire, accused the Mnangagwa government of pushing for the exhumation of the remains of the late former President.
“The junta occult comedy around the burial and envisaged exhumation of late President Mugabe continues with Mnangagwa office representative Jeremiah Moyo accompanying a team comprising Borrowdale police, Chief Zvimba’s representative and a messenger of court to Blue Roof to administer summons on Grace accusing her of “improperly” burying the late RGM (Mugabe) in contravention of some dubious chieftainship burial rites claimed by a Zanu PF DCC (district co-ordinating committee) member, Tinos Manongovere,” Mawarire tweeted.
Outcry Over Proposed Mugabe Re-Burial
By A Correspondent- The late former President Robert Mugabe’s eldest nephew and family spokesperson Leo Mugabe, said it was improper for the Zvimba chieftainship to summon Grace Mugabe to a village court about the reburial of the late former feared ruler.
Mugabe’s Nephew Accuses Mnangagwa Of WitchCraft
By A Correspondent-Zanu PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa is behind a bizarre push to exhume the remains of Robert Mugabe in the vain belief that his predecessor was buried with a mystic sceptre, or “tsvimbo yaMambo” in the Shona language, that would give him commanding authority as a leader, Mugabe’s exiled nephew, Patrick Zhuwawo has sensationally claimed.
A village chief sent tongues wagging across Zimbabwe and beyond on Tuesday after summoning Mugabe’s widow Grace to a village court on accusations of violating the Zvimba tradition by burying the late former president inside of his rural homestead and ordering his exhumation for reburial at a family gravesite.
Chief Zvimba ordered the former first lady – who is unwell and seeking medical treatment outside the country – to appear next Thursday.

Magaya’s Bedroom Victim Apologies To Journalist
Update On Billiat Injury
Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt says Khama Billiat suffered another leg fracture on the same area of the previous injury that kept him out of action for three months since January.
The midfielder was at the receiving end of a crude tackle during Chiefs’ 2-1 win against Mamelodi Sundowns two weeks ago. The setback came just weeks after he had recovered from the initial injury.
According to Hunt, the midfielder will miss the Champions League trip to Tanzania against Simba and could remain on the sidelines for some time.
“Khama’s leg, I’ve just been told, has got another fracture in it. So he’s going to be out, he hasn’t played hardly at all this season,” Hunt told SuperSport TV after Wednesday evening’s 1-1 league draw against Swallows FC at the FNB Stadium.
The developments, meanwhile, could also see him out of action for the rest of the South African top-flight season.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

UEFA Changes Champions League Final Venue
UEFA has made a decision on the venue of the Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City.
The fixture was due to take place at the Ataturk Stadium on May 29, but pressure mounted for the venue to be changed.
This came after the UK government placed Turkey on the coronavirus red list and was pushing the game to be played in England.
But there was a sticking point over waiving quarantine rules for the 2,000 staff, sponsors, VIPs and foreign media.
UEFA has now decided to move the final to Estadio do Dragao in Porto, Portugal which has a capacity of 50,000.
The governing body is now in talks with the Portuguese government to allow 20,000 to attend the final. That would mean up to 6,000 tickets for fans of each club.
A statement confirming the developments is expected to be released soon.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Kana Chingoma Choririsa Choda Kutsemuka: Wiwa On Downfall Of Mnangagwa Regime
Tinashe Sambiri|Patriotism is not about sheepishly supporting the Zanu PF regime, MDC Alliance vice chairperson Hon Job Sikhala has said.
According to Hon Sikhala, the regime wants to use the courts of law to subvert the will of the people in 2023.
Below is Hon Sikhala’s argument:
There is nothing unpatriotic about criticizing Emmerson Mnangagwa and his regime in all the bad things they are doing.
It is rather unpatriotic to support them. We will never be afraid of criticizing them.
Wait for a second. You haven’t been shocked yet. The names of the Judges we are hearing he wants to appoint will make lawyers flee to the village for farming.
It will make a mockery of the Judiciary even more than under Adolf Hitler or Saddam Hussein.
The price people are paying
HON Job Wiwa Sikhala
Ukaona chingoma choririsa nyarara. Chinenge choda kuparuka.
The downfall of someone shall be dramatic. Everything points to a tragic downfall.
Zvitunha zvavakafa kare zviri kuvhukunurwa. The constitution is being raped. Imposition of office bearers contrary to the constitution
Even the cabinet of dogs and reptiles can’t think like this.
Our country is cursed

Woman Demands Lobola Back From Own Father
By A Correspondent- A 36 year old woman who grew under the care of her late mother’s relatives has demanded lobola paid to her father when she got married.
Fungai Mudadi is at loggerheads with Farai Kambudzi, 58, who she says has to return her lobola so that she hands it over to her mother’s relatives.
Mudadi told H-Metro that Kambudzi denied responsibility when her late mother Jerina Mudadi conceived but later on accepted responsibility in order to receive lobola.
Mudadi’s mother passed away when she was two months old and she had to be raised by her grandmother.
She was informed that Kambudzi refused responsibility when her mother fell pregnant.
But when her boyfriend said he wanted to marry her, Mudadi had to look for her father and the only information she had was about Kambudzi.
After visiting Kambudzi and informing him about her boyfriend’s intention to marry, he took her to a family gathering where she was introduced to Kambudzi’s family.
“Convinced about this, I gave my lover the green light to pay lobola and he did that only to be phoned some months later that I was not of their blood,” said Mudadi.
Mudadi said she has been having some miscarriages and suspects that misfortunes are emanating from the paternity issues.
Mudadi said Kambudzi had received a beast from the lobola list when one of the Kambudzi family members later disclosed the doubtful paternity issue.
Kambudzi confirmed receiving lobola at his Budiriro house saying the late Mudadi’s mother had sexual intercourse with him and one of their cattle herders leaving other family members questioning fatherhood.
Mudadi family member Davison Mudadi accused Kambudzi of receiving lobola without involving them arguing that the child in question was raised in their family

“Veld Fires A Threat To Food Security”

By A Correspondent- Addressing delegates at the launch of the National Fire Week at Gwebi Agricultural College Wednesday, Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Resettlement Deputy Minister Douglas Karoro called on farmers to invest in fire guards and prevent veld fires as they posed a huge threat to food security.
Karoro said failure to invest in fire guards was costly to farmers and the nation especially now when the nation was expecting a bumper harvest.

“Let us do all that we can to avoid veld fires. Imagine all the hard work that our farmers have put in place being destroyed in a matter of minutes. Food security, our economy will be adversely affected. Government will revert to food imports which gobble a large chunk of our foreign currency.”
Guest of honour at the function, which was hosted by the Environmental Management Agency held under the theme: “Veld Fires and Food Security- Protect the Harvest”, Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu said while the nation celebrated theprojection of a good crop yield, there should be investment to prevent the catastrophic loses of the harvest to veld fires.

“Veld fires have become an issue of national concern given their wanton destructive nature. Each year, the nation loses over a million hectares of forests and grasslands depriving wildlife and livestock of pastures and leaving the country counting loses of property, crops and life.
The annual average burnt area from 2010-2020 was one million hectares. An average of 60 percent of the total burnt area has been under the A1 and A2 resettlement areas. Ladies and gentlemen, of the 18,000 A2 farmers, only about 400 have 99 year leases, which leases have specific clauses on environmental protection. This creates a possibility of massive information gap on the responsibilities of farmers in their properties.
“It is in this regard that we have already begun a comprehensive awareness programme with the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Resettlement through their Agritex extension services. Every farmer is expected to construct their fireguard in compliance with the laws of our country.”
Speaking at the same occation, Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Mary Mliswa-Chikoka called on government to effect a penalty for those who do not invest in fire guards.

She urged the local leaders to be on the lookout for those who violated environmental best practices as a way of reducing veld fires and loss of property and deaths in the district.
The National Fire Week, launched annually on the second week of May aims at raising awareness amongst communities on the need to prevent veld fires by undertaking pre- fire suppression measures such as fireguard construction, biomass reduction and early controlled burning.

Another Zanu Pf Terror Ring Leader Unmasked

Dear Editor
In extreme evil sordid crimes of violent beatings and murdering of known opposition members. Zancha’ s narrative of wishing to receive money for his opaque beer, later became the trademark of political appeasement by most senior Zanu officials who hijacked Zancha’s mindset and used it in other provinces of the country as scuds became pivotal in election campaigns and vote buying.
Zancha was the an instrument of political violence under the late Innocent Mugabe who headed the dreaded notorious CIO during the 80s.
Highfield was turned into the most violent ghetto, Mugabe used to host secret meetings at Mushandirapamwe Hotel and Zancha was the tough guy tasked with mobilising all the youths by hook and crook, to become members of the ruling party.
Zancha is well known for violently beating his neighbour, Mr Dube who now suffers from dementia of the wounds and scars that he got from a murderous attack led by Zancha and fellow thugs, who have never been arrested up this day.
Zancha led the terror political gangs in Highfield and, he was never arrested for nearly killing his neighbour who is living a very difficult life due to the head wounds that seriously threatened his life.
To some, Zancha is their ‘hero’ but to others, he is a thug that infested extreme political violence working with Patrick Zhuwayo and the late Innocent Mugabe.
